Publisher's Summary

Pro quarterback Cade Prescott's last play was to lose the Super Bowl for his team. To escape the bad press and recover from the disastrous season, he changes his appearance and hides away at a sleepy university town.

Andie Wales's first love is researching ancient bad boy kings. She is blissfully unaware of the Super Bowl and modern day bad boys. When her dog meets and mates with Cade's dog, Andie's first concern is to get her dog to a vet. She gets waylaid by Cade and his hunky good looks and has no idea just how out of her league Cade is.

Despite his secrets, Cade feels differently about Andie and thinks he might be falling in love. Unfortunately, his past catches up with him, and he is forced to make a difficult decision. Can a professional athlete and a research librarian truly prove the axiom that opposites not just attract, but were meant for each other?

Cliffhanger. Cade and Andie's story continues in Part Two.

    Any additional comments?

Cade and Andie's first meeting was very unusual to say the least. Cade has gone incognito to avoid the backlash from his mistake in losing in the Super Bowl. Andie is a Biblical historical librarian who doesn't follow sports. They fall for each other in only a week and then the press finds out where he is and everything changes for them. I enjoyed this audio book and the narration by Chris Abell. I didn't want to quit listening it was so good. It does end with a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

    "**I'm a First-Timer**"

As the title of my review suggests, I'm a first-timer when it comes to listening to steamy romance audiobooks, such as this one by Rachelle Ayala. Intercepted by Love: The Quarterback's Heart, Book 1 was one I'll never forget...they say you never forget your 1st...but it seems like it won't end here for me because the cliff-hanger at the end has me wondering what happens next!! :-)

At first, I wondered a bit how this was all going to turn out...a guy narrating a steamy romance? Well, I definitely think Narrator Chris Abell did a fantastic job! His voice was perfect for his own character, as well as the others! Not one time did I feel distracted by the fact it was a guy speaking the words and thoughts of a female. I think most of the books I have listened to have female narrators, so not only am I not used to a guy narrating, but from some that I have listened to, I get a bit bored. Not here! Chris Abell does an excellent job!! He kept my interest the whole time, and he sounded exactly as I imagined him to sound! He was easy to understand, had great pace, and perfect volume. I couldn't find anything that would prevent me from listening to more of the books he has narrated. In fact, I have even started sampling some of his other work. :-) Keep it up, Chris!

Right away I knew I was going to have no problem staying engaged in the story. I LOVE dogs, and I LOVE that the books I have read from Rachelle Ayala all have animals playing a central role in the storyline. Unless you are not an animal lover, I feel including them in the story makes the plot and characters more relatable to the reader, more realistic to everyday events, and much more exciting! In my opinion, the inclusion of animals draws in more readers (like myself) who wouldn't normally read/listen to books of this genre. Way to go, Rachelle!

I give Intercepted by Love: The Quarterback's Heart, Book 1, 🎆5-stars🎆 across the board. Even though I have nothing to compare it to, I felt that the performance was right on, and the storyline was entertaining! Truthfully, I didn't know what to expect with a book like this....I just assumed it would be a long narration of sex...hehee! Now I know otherwise! I'm glad I chose to dip my toes into life on this side of the fence because I learned it wasn't bad at all! Rachelle Ayala, thank you for being my first! I will remember you 4-Life! :-)

Thanks for reading my review. I hope it helped.

    "Opposites Attract"

When Cade threw the football in the last seconds of the game, it left his hands with a wobble and he lost the Superbowl for his team. To escape the bad press Cade shaved his head, let his beard grow, and traveled to a sleepy college town in upstate New York. Browsing in the library one day, he stumbled across head librarian Andie in a not-so-prim-and-proper position in the archives. Cade was instantly attracted to her, and when they found their dogs "stuck together" later that day, Cade thought it was the perfect excuse to see Andie again. But Cade couldn't reveal his identity or let her expect more than a quick fling. At least that's what he told himself when she popped into his thoughts over and over again.

This was a fun romance that flung the typical hardened athlete and meek librarian tropes out the window. When the story began Cade was a player who handed out literal gift bags to his many female partners. He didn't respect women because he was surrounded by the kind that only wanted his money and fame. Andie was a scholar, burying herself in research and struggling to support her parents. She'd been hurt in the past and refused to let a man close enough to hurt her again.

As the story developed, Cade was revealed to be a sweetie with a painful past. And Andie had a bit of an unhealthy obsession with King David and his *ahem* staff. She was full of life and spirit. Together they were a great combo.

This was a steamy read that ended on a cliffhanger. The narrator brought a lot of life to the story, he read at a good pace and performed the character voices well. I voluntarily left a review and was given a copy of the audio at my request.

    "Intercepted By Love"
What did you love best about Intercepted by Love?

I enjoyed this story. It shows us that even though someone doesn't feel like they are perfect, with the right person and with love, they can be happy.

Which character – as performed by Chris Abell – was your favorite?

I think he did the character of Cade very well. He had expression in his voice when Cade was distraught, hurt or excited.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, because of the length of this book and the content, I was able to sit and listen to it all in one sitting. It was approx. 3 hr. long . I was able to do some chores while being entertained .

    Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this story. Andie and Cade were an unlikely, opposites attract couple and that always warms my heart. It really warmed my heart when Andie visits with her dad and gets him to smile. The Author almost always adds a touch of animals to her stories and I love that! (Gollie and Red almost had their own story! LOL) It has some moments of humor, touching moments and held my interest through the whole book.

"Love is more powerful than pride."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Realistically, I am not a fan of the cliffhanger format, but listening to Mr. Abell saw to keeping that thought off my mind with his performance.

What other book might you compare Intercepted by Love to and why?

In no way was It's a Wonderful Life. a direct connection to Cade and Andi. However, it took the help of others to remind George that his life mattered and his actions made a difference in the lives of others. In that area the stories have similarities.

Have you listened to any of Chris Abell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've read Bad Boys for Hire: Ryker - His delivery for me was a bit to fast, but overall engaging. Intercepting Love was more balanced and easily understood.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Cade was caught in a world of regretful, what ifs. It's easy to relate to a situation like that because it's only human, but the key is not to let the regrets consume our accomplishments. Andie was central in his discovering that.

This is a well written and preformed book. I have yet to find a book by this author that I didn't enjoy. The characters are likeable. The storyline is engaging beginning to end. While I received this audio to listen and review I was so drawn into the story that I couldn't wait for the next part to release and quickly one clicked the entire series in ebook format to see how this story unfolds!

    "Scorching"

When Cade's career turns Super Bowl disastrous, he hides out in a college town with his dog, Red. Use to having anonymous sex with many women, he isn't certain about relationships.
Andie is the librarian, devoted to her parents and her dog, Gollie. She gets her romance from hot dreams of King David. Would a bad boys searing touch be able to compete with fantasies of a bad boy King?
When their dogs meet and mate, Cade and Andie are tossed into each other's paths. Will they be able to move forward from their pasts to be mated, too? Only the dogs know.

This is a story that will bring tears to your eyes, giggles to your mouth and heat to other parts. Football Widows, cuddle up near your honey and those amazing snacks on a chilly, fall football afternoon . Forget the blanket. You won't need it. Warning: If you are listening to the audio version, it is sure to have your honey's attention too. Headphones may be necessary.

I was entertained by Chris Abell's performance. He contributed a lot to the fun of this audiobook with his voice. I really enjoyed the variety in pitch as well as his interpretation of character voices. I loved his enthusiasm.

This story contains sexual references and is intended for a mature audience.
It is a part of a series that does need to be read in order. This book ends with a major cliffhanger.

    Any additional comments?

The first audiobook I read by this author used the same narrator. This gave my experience a pleasant feeling of familiarity from the beginning since I enjoyed his narration for that book also.

Intercepted by Love is a romance so it's no surprise that everyone is exactly the cliche they need when they need to be so. This doesn't stop Ayala from fleshing out the main characters and making them complex and relatable. More importantly, the characters, at least the main 2, feel like individuals. It would be far too easy for one character to basically be fantasy-fulfillment for the other but the author avoids this. Andie and Cade each have their own personalities, histories, and motivations. Although it's inevitable that they'll end up together (being the only interesting characters in a romance novel), it doesn't feel cheap. There's an emotional and literary satisfaction which you can only get when the relationship feels earned.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

What did you love best about Intercepted by Love?

This is a cute story. It made me laugh and cry. Anything I read by this author truly amazes me. She can tell a story and make you feel like you are right there in the middle of things.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed the part where she thought she was alone in the basement and then she was moaning and making sexual noises and all of a sudden she sees someone in the basement. When she asks why he is there he tells her that he heard sounds and followed them.

    Any additional comments?

Cade Prescott was a football superstar. He was used to having several women at one time, none who meant anything at all to him. He was filling in for another player during the superbowl and didn't win the superbowl for his team. He knew because of his mistake that's why the team lost. So he ran away and went into hiding so to speak. He went to this little college town and pretended that he wasn't a superstar. He met this librarian and things changed for him. He fell in love with her.

The librarian Andie Wales was a big King David fan. She thought Cade Preston as she knew him was an animal breeder who traveled for his job.

"An Entertaining Part One. Bring on the rest!"

It is a rare romance that can successfully throw together American football with the biblical King David in equal measures. The result is sweet, quirky, sexy and surprisingly real. Andy and Kade's story is a clear case of instant opposites attracting and the characters are stretched beyond their comfort zones. Between the mating dogs, the hidden identities and the infactuation with King David, the reader is in for an entertaining tussle. And this is only half of the tale.... i cannot wait to hear the rest!
