This Story Is Seductive

Publisher's Summary

Giving up sugar right before Halloween. Brilliant.

Going on vacation with an ex. Not so bright.

Honey and her ex-husband, Max, travel to Sapphire Falls to give their two young children the perfect Halloween treat. Max wants Honey back, and he’s counting on the magic of Sapphire Falls to seduce her into a second chance.

Honey is leery of Max and his tricks, but when he woos her with a Halloween romance complete with bonfires, hayrides, parties, and paintball, Honey warms to the idea of a new beginning.

Unfortunately, there's something off about Max on which Honey can't put her finger. When their vacation goes haywire, Honey must decide whether the treat of true love is worth all the terrible tricks life can play.

The My Country Hearts series is a light-hearted, heart-warming series of romances set in Erin Nicholas' Sapphire Falls world (made available by special license). Enjoy the stories in order or out of order. They are stand-alone and fun either way.

Halloween Romance!

This is out just in the knick of time for a great Halloween listen! Rachelle Ayala takes us to Sapphire Falls with her latest audiobook and it's full of thrills, passionate trists and emotional turmoil giving us a hauntingly good book. Honey and her two kids go to Sapphire Falls to see her ex-husband Max and have a Halloween to remember. Little does she know what Max is up to. He wants Honey back, and has the weekend filled with all the things she loves...romance, massage, time to meet authors and talk about her book as well as time with the kids. But is this enough? Honey is still in love with her Max, but there are some things happening that make her hesitant. What comes to light is surprising, and will their love be enough? Rachelle Ayala is an author I love to listen to. She always writes great romances, but there is always a message in the book. This one is something everyone can relate to, and it's full of faith, love and understanding. Another winner, and I can't wait til we get Christmas in Sapphire Falls with Going Toe to Mistletoe!

Books like this are narrated to perfection by the team of Tor Thom and Charley Ongel. I love books that are emotionally charged and performed by a team with chemistry. These two give this book all the feelings that this misguided couple is having and through their words, you can feel the pain, love and hope. It's a wonderful narration.

Halloween Sapphire Falls Style!

Going Haywire (My Country Heart, Book 1)
This sweet novella is perfect just in time for Halloween. It follows Honey and her ex-husband, Max, who travel to Sapphire Falls to give their two young children the perfect Halloween Treat. This novella is swirling with halloween tricks to get you in the mood. Max and Honey are in for one pandemonium ride. The supporting character's are funny & very entertaining. This novella is sweet, sensuous, & romantic. There are many twists & turns & a deep dark secret is revealed. The ending will shock you. If you love Halloween stories I recommend listening this as you will not be disappointed. I loved the vivid details with sonance in the background reflecting halloween.

Narators Charley Ongel and Tor Thom are a perfect match as these two together create a ensorcelled listen. I loved the naration. Their inflection is smooth and flows through smoothly. A entertaining listen.

Entertaining second chance romance

Audio Review
Rachelle Ayala is a new author to me and I’m really quite new to Audio although I have listen to both Tor Thom and Charley Ongel before and I have to say this duo really did a great job bringing this book to life for me.
Max and Honey are divorced but that doesn’t mean they have fallen out of love with each other in fact Max is trying everything he knows to get his wife back even if it means getting her and his children back to his home town of Sapphire Falls under false pretences and not really being honest with his family about his situation. The small town of Sapphire Falls is caught up in Halloween fever and Max is hoping Honey gets caught up in it as well.....
The narrators did a great job with bringing the small town of Sapphire Falls celebrating Halloween to life and I really felt part of the celebrations, the chemistry between Max and Honey was easy to imagine and the banter flowed naturally. I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading and listening to more from this author.

Heart-melting and Sweet

I loved reading this story the first time around, but hearing it spoken and brought to life with this incredible narration made it spectacular! Nothing can beat a well written story, but more then that nothing can beat a story that can reach past your defenses and grip your heart in a sense of suspense and wonder. This story did that and so much more! It delivered on its promise of beauty, hope, and life altering love. It is a shining example of who Rachelle Ayala is as an author and what she hopes to achieve as she touches the lives of each of her readers.

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are truly amazing narrators who know how to put their heart into each story and each character they bring to life. They always leave me feeling as if I have had a meaningful time of rest and rejuvenation with a friend. That's why I loved their duet narration! It feels like a never-ending conversation that helps to revive and encourage my life weary heart and mind. Thank you guys so much!! You are both fantastic and so creative in your own way.

Treats or Halloween in Sapphire Falls

A Sapphire Falls expat convinces his ex-wife to spend a weekend in at the local Halloween festival in this wholesome look at marital problems and a chance to start over in a new town. A perfect addition to the Sapphire Falls collection with cameo appearances by a bunch of the regulars.
I enjoyed the ghosties and ghoulies as well as the steamy romance.

Going Haywire is a weird Halloween read. Divorced couple return to his hometown with the kids to enjoy Halloween weekend hoping to win Hunny his ex wife back. There are haunted hayride and haunted houses and kidnapping in the mix. This was a good read narration was good and captured the different voices. I loved the small town charm of Sapphire Falls.

Second chance for a marriage

Honey and Max have been divorced for a while but he hasn't told his family in Sapphire Falls. He has Honey bring their 2 children for Halloween and has plans to win her back so he doesn't have to tell his family that they divorced. They love each other and hopefully can work out the problems they had before. There sure were some twists in the story and always a lesson to be learned when Rachelle Ayala writes the story. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are a great duet narrator team, too!

Modern Romance with a Halloween Twist

What I enjoy about Rachelle Ayala's books is that she writes modern romances with a purpose that takes the stories to the next level. She always makes the story seem like it will be frivolous and light but then the real issues come up and the story takes on a deeper hue.

This story is no exception but I don't want to write any more incase I give something away. Suffice it to say Max and Honey are divorced. They have returned to his hometown with their children to enjoy the family holiday amidst the local Halloween traditions. Between the ghouls, vampires and zombies, they realise their love for each other never really died. Sounds idealistic and over simplified, doesn't it? This is where the Rachelle Ayala's brand of magic comes in. For her characters there is always room for growth, love, acceptable and self awareness. There is always an issue that can make or break the story. And there is always a HEA.

As usual, I enjoyed the feel-good part of the book. There is a little of everything: sexual chemistry, family, community, struggle and love conquering all!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
