Publisher's Summary

The first book in a new series by Lucy Lennox!

Nico:

I left my family and tiny Texas hometown 15 years ago to escape small-town gossips and to give my mom and sister the chance at a better life. But when a phone call from an attorney back home informs me that my sister passed away, leaving me custody of her newborn baby, I'm shocked out of the steady life I've built for myself running a tattoo shop in San Francisco.

The thing is: I don't do babies. And I don't do small towns. Or commitment. And I especially don't do family. My plan is to go back to Hobie just long enough to sign adoption papers, giving my niece the kind of stable, loving family I could never provide.

But the moment I meet my niece in the arms of Weston Wilde, my sister's best friend and the town's handsome doctor, my plans begin to change. Because suddenly, I see a different future. One with the very thing I thought I never deserved: a family. If only I can convince West that I'm not the same good-for-nothing kid ready to bolt when things get tough.

Weston:

There's one thing I know for sure about Nico Salerno: he was a good-for-nothing as a kid and judging by the purple-haired, tattooed punk who shows up at his sister's funeral, he hasn't changed. There's no way I'm letting him take custody of my best friend's baby.

But the more time I spend around him, the more I realize that his rough exterior is just a shell and that beneath all the tattoos is a scared, insecure man searching for a place to belong. And pretty soon I know exactly where he belongs: in my bed and by my side.

The problem is, he abandoned his family once before, how do I know that if we become a family he won't do it again?

I loved getting to know Nico better. The Marians are my favorite, but I think the wilds will be a close second.

    "Great book!"

Actor's southern accent is interesting, but not so distracting you can't enjoy this awsome story!

    "Another Lucy Lennox hit!"

Nico and West are totally lovable. It's a great start to a new series. I love Doc and Gramps and look forward to seeing them more too.
When I first listened to Michael Pauley as a narrator, I didn't much care for him. But either he's really improved to the point he's in my top 5 favorite narrators now. He really nailed the emotions in this one. I was crying right along with Nico. If you love Lucy Lennox, don't pass this one by.

    "Lightning strikes twice!!!"

I for one will be waiting on pins and needles for the next installment of this series. So far it's as wonderful and whimsical as the Made Marian series. I didn't thing that Lucy Lennox could top the character Ganny in the Marian series but boy did she! This starts with Nico's story. I loved Nico from the previous series and Lucy nails it!!! The main characters are interesting and worth caring about. In typical fashion all the emotions are there. To hear Nico's backstory tore at my heart and made me love this character even more. If you have read the Made Marian series you are going to love this one just as much. If you haven't read them this novel can be read on its own. Well done Lucy Lennox well done!!!

"New series opener is a hit!"

I love Lucy's writing! If you love the last series as much as I did, then get ready to fall in love again! The only bad thing is waiting for the next one to come out! And who doesn't love Michael Pauley? He's the best narrator!

Another great story, Lucy is one of my favorite M/M authors. I was emotionally invested right from the beginning of the story. I can’t wait for more Wilde stories 💕

    "Opposites Attract"

Highly recommend this book. I read the ebook first and fell in love with West and Nico. They are sweet and perfect together but combustible in the bedroom. Nico’s demons from his past are almost enough to keep them apart. Michael Pauley’s narration is spot on as always. I love it even more the second time around. Very HOT!

    "Meh. It was ok."

Lucy Lennox is a reliably average-good (but more average) writer. I still keep buying her books though! I know it’s guaranteed to be an acceptable easy listen, acting as a filler book until I get my next good one. This book (as with all of hers) is the equivalent of putting on a chick flick movie for an evening in. You know that you’ll come away feeling that you didn’t waste a credit (not fully anyway), but even a week later you will have forgotten what happened in the book. Zero lasting impact, and you certainly don’t think about the characters or reminisce when you finish ..simply move on to the next book!
