Publisher's Summary

An agent broken.

MI6 agent Damon Knight prided himself on always being in control. His missions were executed with cold, calculating precision. His club, The Garden, was run with an equally ordered and detached decadence. But his perfect world was shattered by one bullet, fired from the gun of his former partner. That betrayal almost cost him his life and ruined his career. His handlers want him to retire, threatening to revoke his license to kill if he doesn't drop his obsession with a shadowy organization called The Collective. To earn their trust, he has to prove himself on a unique assignment with an equally unusual partner.

A woman tempted.

Penelope Cash has spent her whole life wanting more. More passion. More adventure. But duty has forced her to live a quiet life. Her only excitement is watching the agents of MI6 as they save England and the world. Despite her training, she's only an analyst. The closest she is allowed to danger and intrigue is in her dreams, which are often filled with one Damon Knight. But everything changes when the woman assigned to pose as Damon's submissive on his latest mission is incapacitated. Penny is suddenly faced with a decision. Stay in her safe little world or risk her life, and her heart, for Queen and country.

An enemy revealed.

With the McKay-Taggart team at their side, Damon and Penny hunt an international terrorist across the great cities of Northern Europe. Playing the part of her Master, Damon begins to learn that under Penny's mousy exterior is a passionate submissive, one who just might lay claim to his cold heart. But when Damon's true enemy is brought out of the shadows, it might be Penny who pays the ultimate price.

Another Hit From Lexi Blake/Ryan West

Lexi Blake's erotic suspense stories are always great. This story excitingly roams all over northern Europe.
However, Ryan West outshines himself in this narration. Besides the myriad of characters he normally has to work with in her stories, Lexi added Finish, German, UK and Australian accents and language as well. He makes her already entertaining stories come alive.

Why The Only Bi Evil??

If Basil (villian) weren’t so full of rage and hate, I’d feel for him. And that’s the problem, Basil is not only a villain, but the only bisexual in this entire book and I’ll just bet, in the entire series as well, so naturally, he’s the villain. Now in part, Basil went too the dark side for money and power and all that fun stuff, but the other reason is that he was in love with his ex-partner Damon for years, and Damon, instead of being straight (pun not intended) with Basil and clearing the air of any misgivings, decided that ignoring his partners growing love for him was actually better. Not to mention how offensive it is that no one brings this up in their reviews! It’s so fucked up that this is the only representation of anyone who is bi! And on top of that, he is a really vile villain who betrayed Damon, tried to kill him once, planned on raping Damon if given the chance and raping/torturing/murdering Penelope for having slept with Damon when he couldn’t, and then planned on truly killing Damon once and for all if he couldn’t have Damon’s heart! He even admits to Damon that he wanted to be the one who mattered most to Damon, the one thing he could never give up and would always love. Just how fucked up is that?

I’ll tell you how fucked up: it made me tear up, that’s how fucked up it was. Now of course, I’m a lesbian and representation of any of my brothers and sisters matters to me, and at that part of the book, I was ready to throw my phone out a window, but I was at work and their are no windows in the break room, so I settled for stewing. Because while I was upset on behalf of Basil, Blake did a fine job of vilifying him to the point that it was impossible to feel any true kinship to him, and then when he died, you are happy cause he was just that awful.

Moving away from that because I could go another 3 paragraphs, let’s move on to the other aspects of this book. Very straight, much of the straight sex, a lot of dirty talk, a lot of the word ‘c*#k’ used, alot of douch bag alpha maleness, unnecessarily giant men with even bigger—parts, (seriously wtf? Are they elephant penises these men have??) and much needed growth between the main characters, which you get with them coming to realize things on their own and with one another (though I could have done with more emotional build), and yet, still lacked something…but idk wha—oh! Cunnilingus. It had an ok amount, but it could have had more, such as where anal sex came into play, why not have had even more cunnilingus instead? (I had to skip the whole anal thing cause omg, #scarring) You can never go wrong with cunnilingus. Other then that, this book was–ok. The narrator was on point and mostly the only reason I stayed till the end. Good on you West, mad props to you and your pretty voice.

All in all, if you are straight, you’ll love this book.

If you are bi….it’s a maybe. You’ll like the sex and growth the main characters go through, but like me you’ll probably be bitter about a bisexual male being turned into a villain. So ya…that’s my review/rant.

Absolute perfection!!!

Once again Lexi Blake knocks it out of the park!! This book has everything from love and lust to suspense, espionage and betrayal. This story starts out sad due to unforeseen circumstances however, it brings two people together in the best way possible. Ryan West did a phenomenal job narrating as always. Can't wait for the next installment to finally hear more about Chelsea and Simon!!! Crossing my fingers that I won't have to wait too long......

Great story line if you can shut out the "British accent"

Story was ok but it took me a while to tune out the appalling version of a British accent. This spoilt what was otherwise good narration
