It was ok

Not what I expected. I’ve enjoyed all her other books. This one was just not to good.

Yawn

This book disappointed me. It involved ghosts which I don't like to read about. It also didn't have a lot of action, the main character mainly traveled from her home to the candy store and back. Very boring for me.

Boring

Lots of sex, but virtually no story. And that makes the sex just mechanics. Furthermore, what story there was, was not compelling in any way. I was HUGELY disappointed in this book and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. I'm going to avoid this author, too.

Did nothing for me

Though I love erotic romance and also paranormal stories, this one just didn't have a decent plot. It was very predictable and though the sex scenes were prolific throughout the book, I can't say they were actually hot or erotic. Or maybe I'm jaded.
The narrator was decent though.

What disappointed you about Deeper?

It was about boring people who have no interests except sex and their problems and resentments. And while I wasn't expecting an erotic novel, once I realized it was supposed to be erotic, I was extra sorry, because I wanted to just skip over the sex scenes, they became so boring.

What was most disappointing about Megan Hart’s story?

I thought the story, with its paranormal twist, would be stronger. Oh, that and hating the characters. I couldn't even be sad at the ending, because it was so clear the characters were shallow and uninteresting. The bittersweet end was telegraphed from the very beginning.

Any additional comments?

I'm not a big romance reader; maybe if I were, I would have liked the story more.

Hot, steamy and enjoyable!

Not to my taste

I am generally a fan of both Megan Hart and the narrator Savannah Richards; however, I found the paranormal aspect of this particular story rather creepy and morbid. Additionally, though I liked the main character for the most part, I found myself frustrated by her choice of men, both of whom were too petulant to be compelling.

So disappointing...paranormal, 'ghost' involved...

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I am a HUGE Megan Hart fan, however ABSOLUTELY NOTHING could make this a 4 or 5 star read for me. If this were labeled or reviewed as the paranormal or a ghost story that it is I would NEVER have purchased it.

This is NOT what Megan Hart usually writes. I missed her quick humor and intriguing storyline.

What we get instead is a moody ghost lover that appears 20 years after his death who whines and acts like the teen he is. The story switches between 'then' (the 1980's) and 'now'...so the reader is either listening to a teenager/young adult story or the perspective of the, now grown woman & her ghost story.

If you like paranormal, other side, etc. this may be right for you.

Has Deeper turned you off from other books in this genre?

No and please do not think this review is a spoiler...it is revealed in the 1st chapter that the main character is a ghost so you kinda know how one part of the story is going to end!

Which scene was your favorite?

The sweet twists with 'real' men.

I got it on sale and did not waste a credit.

I wish SOMEONE would have written an accurate summation or a review that included the above mentioned points so I could have been a more informed buyer. Hopefully, this will save someone else their credit or $.

I Heard That

This book has a good story, and an excellent reader. Unfortunately, it has too much sex to be titilating, and the f-bomb is a frequent word used. Personally, I thought it was a little much.
