Publisher's summary

A dark storm is on the horizon.... Return to Christine Feehan’s “steamy and dreamy” (Publishers Weekly) world of her New York Times best-selling Carpathian novels as roiling passions collide in a perfect storm of dangerous desire that only a precious few can hope to outrun....

Awakening after all this time in a world of absolute darkness and oppressive heat, Dax wonders in how many ways the world above must have changed. But it is how he has changed that fills him with dread and loathing. Buried alive for hundreds of years in a volcano in the Carpathian Mountains, Dax fears that he has become the full-fledged abomination that every Carpathian male fears, a victim of the insidious evil that has crept relentlessly into his mind and body over the centuries.

But there are some things that never change.

His name is Mitro, the vampire Dax had hunted all these long centuries. Second in command to the prince of the Carpathian people he is the epitome of everything malevolent, and perpetrator of one of the most shocking killing sprees known to man - and beast. Even his friends and family weren’t safe from Mitro’s bloodlust. Neither was Mitro’s lifemate, Arabejila, an extraordinary woman with extraordinary gifts.

But now that Dax has re-emerged, so too has Mitro. The ultimate battle between good and evil has been re-engaged. Between Dax and Mitro, a violent game has begun - one that has marked Riley Parker, the last descendent of Arabejila, as the reward.

Love those Carpathians

What made the experience of listening to Dark Storm the most enjoyable?

Returning to the Carpathian world. Christine has woven so many different characters into an evolving storyline. It's nice to meet new characters and revisit older ones.

What did you like best about this story?

Loved the dragon

Which scene was your favorite?

Loved the courtship ritual. It brought new hope for the Carpathians.

Any additional comments?

I had hard time with the female narrator. I did get used to her. Of all the narrators that have done Christine's books Phil is my favorite. But Erik does a great job too!!!!

Great performance!

very good performance. I like the two narrators instead of just one. It is along par with the rest of the Carpathian novels.

Yet another amazing carpathian story

This book is so good I'm not sure where to start. The concept is novel the characters just get better and better. There seems to be a surprising love interest for jubal, I doubt few of us saw that coming. I love Christeen Feehan - she just keeps surprising fans. Her abilities are awsome. Each offering gets better and better and the choice of narrators is great too.

A little more spice would make the stew tastier

Where does Dark Storm rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Oh yes. I enjoyed the story. I usually like Ms Feehans musings of Carpathians vs vampires vs human demented terminators. Please I would like the female character to have a little more, no, a lot more bounce, fire, and humor. I rank this book up there in the top fifty.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dark Storm?

The dragon awakes. The Carpathian quakes.

Which character – as performed by Erik Bergmann and Kristine Ryan – was your favorite?

Overall performance by these two exceptional narrators really awesome.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

More made my blood run cold. The way Anabell was killed.

Any additional comments?

I hope to see more of this series. I would love to see the main characters not get along so well all the darn time. It's so fantaC. :) I haven't seen Ms Feehan put a Fairy into the mix yet. That might be fun.

Refreshing

if you are a Christine feehan lover, you know how monotonous her books can sometimes be. I myself, love when there is a good storyline and not just the intimate physical parts focused on. after the book previous to this one, I was hesitant to pick back up another one of her stories, but this book was well worth the reconsideration. the themes are new with a bit of the old, imaginative with a bit of the familiar, enticing without deflecting from the storyline. Bravo.
