Publisher's Summary

Lennon Montgomery is scared sh-tless of love.

When the floor fell out from underneath her perfect childhood, it shattered her ability to trust. The one man in her life who was genetically programmed to love her left her. Since then she's allowed men into her bed and even into her life but never into her heart.

Until him.

Jamison Henley is content living his life and loving only three things: making guitars, cooking great food, and Martha, his pit bull. He never chases women, and he's never had to.

Until her.

One night together changes everything. There's no going back to the way it was before. She doesn't want to want him, but she does. He knows he wants her, but he can't have her.

Will Montgomery take the leap of faith in choosing Henley? Or will her fear cripple their chance at a happily ever after?

Loving this Series!

I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely above average but I had a little bit of an issue with Lennon's baggage. Lennon is afraid of heartache, Jamie knows she is the one and is determined to make her realize it. They are really sweet and hot together. I love the close friendship in these books and how well they watch out for each other. All in all this was a great story. The issue I had is a personal one so I can't fault the author for that. Lennon has major daddy issues and honestly I just don't get it. Yeah your dad left you when you were a teenager, yeah you were devastated but really your an adult now...get over it. LOL Sorry I just don't get unnecessary baggage, it makes her seem a little like a drama queen to me even though nothing else about her feels that way at all. Anyways, I can't wait to hear Beth's story, I'm really curious how the author will write her story with the new boyfriend.

I loved Lucy Rivers narration of this book. For me she has really come a long way. Some of my first audiobooks were narrated by her and I wasn't really impressed but wow she gets better with ever book. Great job Lucy!

All the feels!

Today was day two of my Anne Jolin binge. After listening to Chasing Rhodes, I immediately fell in love with the story and the characters who made them come to life. Lennon was an insta-favorite because the mysterious details about her background and the way she kept relationships at bay were something I could identify with.

Jamison and Lennon's story started in Chasing Rhodes. So I knew there would be more and I was overly excited that the audio released early. Wow, the story was amazing. As I listened to it unfold, I swear I thought Lennon was me lol. She is independent, fiesty, and loves those in her circle, but being involved in a relationship was not her thing. The past for most people can often hinder us from progressing, until a persistent, unexpected person gently breaks the walls.

Jamison and Lennon's story was exceptional. I cried, laughed and even dropped a few "what the f-bombs". Anne is an author who captivates the audience by writing her characters so believable, that you forget they're fictional characters. Anne's ability to create realistic scenarious, conversations and circumstances makes for an easy and enjoyable listen.

Again, Lucy Rivers rocks it out and I can't wait to hear what she does with the remainder of the series!

On to book 3! I can't wait!

I am completely in love with this series. Anne Jolin has me hooked and I can't wait to get the next book loaded and ready. Lennin and Jamie are introduced to us in book 1. We get to know them as part of the friend ensemble that has been created for this series, and we know how close all are. But these two are exceptionally close. Despite Lennin's objections of becoming a couple and falling in love, Jamie lures her into love. I could not help but fall for him early on, his way of talking to her and convincing her that she will love him is intoxicating. The ensemble cast of Grayson, Hannah, Jay, Beth along with newcomer Payton are all included in this book along with meeting Jamie's parents. We get an introduction to Jamie's parents who are warm and loving and Beth's boyfriend Kyle, who I can't wait to hate in the next book! This is a winner!

Lucy Rivers is always a good listen. She can perform both male and female characters seamlessly and keep you entranced the entire time.
