twisted web!

I loved all of the twists this book had, and some of them I never saw coming. I loved how Jen and Dave finally saw each other for the person they really were. Without giving away spoilers, I can only imagine the guilt feelings that racked Dave for his kidnapped daughter Abby that he endured for years. This story had so many facets to its intricately woven events and characters. I loved how Charley Ongel was able to perform so many different voices and put the right emotions in the book. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I cannot wait to listen to the next book in this series. I love romantic suspense and this book fit that to a T along with some interesting tech stuff. It is a standalone listen.

Cyber blackmail, kidnapping, murders!

This book is full of so much drama and intrigue that my head is spinning. Jen Jones has secrets...lots of secrets...and she is being blackmailed for some of them...and is the primary suspect in a murder. Dave Jewel is recovering from the death of his wife and kidnapping of his baby daughter 6yrs ago. He needs funding for his online company and for the sales program to work for Black Friday. A series of events lead him to interact w his build engineer, Jen. There are LOTS of secrets between these two, and chemistry, but they don’t trust each other. Will they be able to figure out who is behind the attacks on the company? Will they discover if Dave’s daughter is still alive? The book is a bit lengthy but worth it. Great HEA and narration.

Complicated Love Story

Complicated may be an understatement when it come to this book. If you enjoy true crime shows, this book will be right up your alley! Get ready to settle in with this emotional, action packed story with a glass of wine, a pen, and a notebook. You're going to want that notebook to keep track of all the clues and connections. There are quit a few complicated story lines between the characters that you will want to write down to remember. I personally do not tend to gravitate towards books like this but decided to stray from my usual. I don't think I will return to a thriller like this again because it just wasn't my thing. The story was good and the ending surprised me.

The audio narration was good. Charley Ongel did a really good job giving voice to all the different characters.

Hold onto your seat...

This story took me on ride filled with intrigue, tension, twists and turns, and romance.

The book involves lots of connections all joining and intersecting each other, much like a web, it seemed that every revelation added more connections each one important in different ways.

Dave and Jen have great chemistry but their pasts both join them together and push them a part.

There was a lot going on during the book and at times I was thinking 'oh my goodness, the tension is killing me', but it was gripping and I couldn't stop listening. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The narration is well done, the character voices were excellent and the delivery is well paced and natural.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

A Rare and Wonderful Experience

Broken Build is an incredible romantic suspense that will tie your heart knots and keep you on the edge of your seat! The sheer length and depth of this story is over whelming, but the heart and soul found within is a shining beacon of hope despite the danger and mystery. Nothing is as scintillating as fighting for something that we desire with all of our heart and yet know instinctively that we do not deserve. That makes the fight so much fiercer and dangerous and yet more rewarding and sweet in the end. This story is no exception, and I would say is the perfect example of how the heart fights desperately for what it wants despite the rationale of the mind. The human race is nothing without our heart for that is what separates us from all else.

Jen Jones lives a half-life shrouded in lies, mystery, and danger. One wrong step and everything she has fought to build will come crashing down. It was not a life she would have chosen and yet it was her that made the choices that brought her here. Fighting against her cage and captors, she presses forward and just when she gets comfortable, she finds herself thrown into the storm of her nightmares. She finds that so much in her life is not what it appears, but she hopes she can find an anchor amidst the chaos within her boss Dave Jewel. Dave only asks for her talents as an engineer, and yet he finds himself wanting to beg her for so much more. While fighting against their unwanted and surprising attraction, they have to stand together if they want to survive a life-altering storm that has overtaken them. Will they make it out alive, or will one have to sacrifice everything for the other to live?

This is one book that I had yet to read by this author, and now I can’t figure out why I waited so long to discover its treasures. I found myself completely blown away by this wonderful masterpiece! It captured my heart and refused to let it go no matter how much pain it had to ensure. No words could express the pain and sorry that these precious characters had to endure in order to see that they could have everything their heart ever desired if they only opened their eyes to what was in front of them and fight for it. Life is not kind, and if we want to do more than just survive, we have to grab hold of that promise and work to make it so every day. The wonder and awe that I felt with these marvelous characters is an experience that I will always savor and remember in the day and years to come. Stories help us to not only to be encouraged, but they inspire and show us how to fight for what we want. They lift our heart from the daily mire, and help us walk towards the healing and hope that we need in order to face each day.

Rachelle Ayala is an inspired author who has enriched my life and opened my heart to endless possibilities. She has taught me to raise my eyes no matter what I am going through and seek my help and salvation from the One who loves us all without condition and longs to help us walk the treacherous path of life. This author is one of my greatest sources of hope, promise, and light. I hope that her stories fill and enrich your life as they have done to mine.

The narration of this story was absolutely exquisite and undoubted beautiful. I have come to enjoy the wonderful talent and the genuine enthusiasm that the narrator has for sharing stories that can transform a heart and a life. The richness and beauty of this experience is something that will forever humble me. This story is a rare gift to those who understand and crave the power in the promise of a word used carefully and lovingly.

Love a good techo thrilling romantic suspense!

Until the very end, I was unsure of how this book was going to turn out. Rachelle Ayala's Broken Build, the first book in the Chance for Love series, is full of romance and suspense, so many twists and turns and unanswered questions, it easily keeps your attention. Dave Jewel is launching a new shopping app for Black Friday release, and his top build designer, Jen Jones. Dave is a young widow, his infant daughter kidnapped and is set that he will never love another like he did his wife. Jen on the other hand is full of secrets, but is in love with Dave. This unlikely couple has a lot of love-hate that keeps their relationship intriguing while the two try and solve the many mysteries that are currently surrounding them. There are so many characters and plot twists, it is important to pay attention to the story. The way it all ties out will leave you surprised and satisfied with the Dave and Jen and their happily ever after.

Charley Ongel is a wonderful fit for the narration of this book. With the amount of intrigue and emotion that Ayala writes into the story, the narrator needed to be one that could handle the many changes and different characters. Ongel is able to to this with easily distinguishable characters, and the right amount of emotion and energy for this fast paced romantic suspense.

Well Written

There was a lot of action and suspense in this storyline and it was certainly well written. It was a long book and took me awhile to get through it and I had to keep putting it down as I found myself losing interest. I found some of the book a bit confusing and I must confess that I just couldn’t bring myself to like either of the main characters, Jen or Dave, at all. There were a lot of characters to sift through and some technical jargon in the storyline. It may be that it just wasn’t my type of story and for those that enjoy some technology in the storyline this would be more up their alley. I am still a fan of Rachelle Ayala’s work, however this story just wasn’t one of my favourites. Charley Ongel did a nice job with the narration. I received a free copy and am providing an unbiased review.

Twists & Turns and Lots of Drama

I’m familiar with this author and have enjoyed several of her books. I enjoy reading suspenseful romances and the overall story was interesting, intriguing, suspenseful and had plenty twists and turns.

What I liked the least was all the drama between the main characters. Their relationship was so unpredictable! One minute, they trusted each other, the next they thought the worse of each other. That kept going on throughout the book and just about drove me nuts. There was a lot going on and several characters to keep up. I wish the author had narrowed down a bit the focus and genre. Here you will find too much drama, betrayal, murder, suspense, “bipolar” romance, lots of twists & turns, mystery, savvy Technology, kidnapping, danger, and you can even find a Christian focus towards the end of the book with several bible verses being thrown in there for good measure.

Narration was ok.
