Years ago, family loyalty caused Fain Hauk to give up everything he loved: his military career. His planet. His fiancée. Even his name. Now, decades later, everything has changed. He's built a new life out of the ashes of his old, and he's vowed never to let anything threaten his loved ones again. But when old enemies align themselves with new ones, he's caught in the middle of a brutal war. And when fate throws his former fiancée back into his world and she has her own agenda that includes taking his head for what he did to her years ago, more than just his life is at stake.
The fate of the Ichidian universe and that of his brothers-in-arms hangs in the balance. Winner take all. It's killed or be killed, and never has the battle been more fierce.... Or more fun in Born of Betrayal, the next League: Nemesis Rising audiobook from number-one New York Times best-selling author Sherrilyn Kenyon!
I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing she gets better and better with each book. Between this series and the Dark Hunter series I am happy to keep buying her books. I was glad to see the Fain and Galene finally found there happily ever after and now I'm anxious to listen to Julian's and Ryn's stories. I was happy to see all the characters from past books in this book, it makes me want to read them all over again.
I too had the chapter before the epilogue missing on the audio. Since I have had this happen before. I went ahead and downloaded the enhanced version and I was able to listen to the completed story that way. Narrator does an awesome job I always enjoy listening to Fred Berman.

been following the League series. glad to get to know more about Fayn and his story. There are a lot of familiar scenarios on this book (examples: 1. the ring - similar that of Darling's part of the story; another part was similar from Hauk's story; and others i couldn't quite remember) but if you have started the series from book 1, you will see how there are quite a few familiar scenarios from other lead characters story.
in my opinion, by book 8, the stories are sounding more and more similar. and from this point, i'm getting confused of who's related to whom already since the characters seemed to be related to each other one way or another. and more and more new characters are popping up that it's sometimes hard to keep up on who's who.. although the camaraderie and being a tight knit family is there which i appreciate.
it's a cliff hanger so i am looking forward to learning about what have happened to Julian. now, for his part, i'm curious to know the 360 degree transformation. of course, this book already had set the plot of why he was a jerk to everyone when they were younger. just as most of the characters' backstories - he was tortured, betrayed, lost, thinks of himself as a nobody, etc...
overall, it was a good story. and i can say that i am a fan of Mr. Fred Berman for always bringing the characters to life. Great narration as always.

Long live the League!
We finally get a chance to hear Nykirian say it's not about him, but about Nemisis Rising. That scene was so cool. Also there were massive amounts of characters in this book, but done In a way that is not overwhelming if you are league fan. If this is your first league book, the amount of people may be a bit much because the ingrained "feels" won't be there. I absolutely adore the Hauk and Winged Batur family. And after you listen/read this book, you will know why the next book has to be Ushara's book. The League does not shirk their duties even when it seems an impossible reason and task.

i don't think I've ever read any of her books and NOT liked it. this was no exception. very well written very well received.
The action, romance, suspense, battles, and everything in between, mixed together in the perfect harmony. This book, just like the previous ones kept me on edge and would not let me put it down. I stayed up and listened to the whole thing. Who needs sleep right? The narration was exquisit. The voices he's able to do kept you in the story and did not let reality intrude. Keep them coming, sexy babies!
Your avid listener,
Excellent story and narration. I am hoping for Trajen's story and I even hope for Kyr to find love again to rescue his soul now that we know what turned him dark but not evil.
And Mr Berman is one of the best narrators for whom I have listened to. The only better I have heard is Mr David Clarke who volunteers on Librevox.
perfect read and Fred does a great job. can't wait to read he next I'm the series.
Fred is SUPERB at reading Ms. Kenyon's books. I deeply appreciate that he uses different inflections for the various characters. I couldn't stop listening!
Love the League series! The stories & characters have become my guilty pleasure. I have read & listened to this book twice!
