Definitely worth the time

Nothing against well Dash written sex scenes, but I was glad to have picked up this book, which is rather sparse on the sex and heavy on the adventure. Also heavy on the romance and the love. At least, they say I love you before they jump into bed. LOL but this was a really good read. I recommend it to anybody who loves a little fantasy in their romantic reading.

This Series Just Gets Better!

I really liked the first book in this series. But this one-- this one rocked. This is Koldo's story. We met the enigmatic and mysterious Koldo in the first book where we found him to be a quiet and tragic character who had suffered greatly in his past. Now Koldo is set to launch a bit of revenge for previous wrongs. Until one trip to the hospital for a simple mission changes everything. The brooding warrior finds himself suddenly in the position of protector and enlightener to twin sisters who have suffered their entire lives.

This story just really impressed me, beginning to end. It had all I expect in a paranormal romance, and delivered even more. Koldo turns out to be a man who shows genuine love in its purest form. It just can't possibly get any more beautiful than that. This well-satisfying story brings all the passion, heat and joy a romance reader wants along with thrills and intrigue, and manages to pull it off without foul language.. Something few authors even attempt these days. Impressive.

Who knew Angels could be so hot! Koldo is so sex, dominant, and real. Koldo was the perfect male character. I love that he did not fight the attraction and his possession of Nicola. While Koldo was dominant, Nicola was not a push over. She stood up for herself and her beliefs.

Great series

Great book and wonderful continuing tale of Kaldo.
Hope to see another book in the series soon.

2nd time with this story

i loved reading this when it first came out and it was great being about to listen to it again on audible. The likeness between the sisters and myself with an illness offered comfort on battling the demons that plague me.

Loved everything about it

So this is the fourth or fifth book I've read by Gina Showalter at this point can't keep them straight. I was skeptical that she could capture my attention with a second book about angels and demons. I expected the book to have a lot of similarities with the first one even though it was a different character however, I am pleasantly surprised. this book heart connections to the first book but it stood on its own and surprisingly I almost shed a tear at the end. I think I am a lifelong fan at this point and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Also the narrator was fantastic.

Great story telling, mild heat

It's a great world woven and easy to care for the characters. There were plenty of missed opportunities to increase the heat level, but in the end it was still a very satisfying escape.

Not an extension of Lords of the Underworld

While the author does use some familiar characters, this was not what I had expected as a follow-up series. The heat and the passion that made Lords one of my all-time favorite book series were not present here despite a lot of build-up to the scene of their claiming. instead, I felt like I was reading a YA version with extended descriptions of kissing, heavy petting, a little dry humping and then...there was only a passing statement of the event the first 2/3's of the book built up to. It would seem the author's personal religious revival has made it's way into her work only to leave dedicated adult fans of Lords like me overheated and frustrated. So if you read Lords for steam, keep looking elsewhere as the Sent Ones are lukewarm at best.

This story is sweet because it touches all bases from loss to great love. Beautiful.
