Publisher's summary

Nothing incites Marcus more than the primal hunger roused by his former fiancée, Elizabeth. It’s been years since she jilted him for another man, but that only means there’s a lot to catch up on, a lot to make up for, and that he’s going to enjoy every sweet moment.… The same drive and passion that sent her into another man’s arms is what brings Elizabeth back to Marcus. Her attraction to him is the one thing she fears, but she’s run out of options. Resisting is impossible. But does she have the courage to surrender everything?

Taking time to adjust

Would you try another book from Sylvia Day and/or Justine Eyre?

It took about half way into the book to get involved, but once you do, you can't stop. It left you wanting more. Justine Eyre is the perfect person to narrate.

What was most disappointing about Sylvia Day’s story?

It was a little difficult to get interested in the story

Narration superb

This was a love story with awesome and writing and characters. The sizzle between Marcus and the heroine was perfecto. I like the way the story brought you along with the ongoing mistrust and yet desire. Highly recommend this narrator, she brings the characters to life. Bravo

Narration Much to Dramatic For My Taste

I think I would have liked this audio better if Justine Eyre would not have overdramatized the story with an over-the-top vibrato. I expected to hear: "John" "Marsha" "No, John" "No Marsha!" The over dramatization just turned me off. Because of this, it was very difficult for me to get through this audio. I think I could give a better evaluation if I had read the story whether than listen to it.

Historical Romance

Enjoyed this just so - so. Obviously I'm not a fan of historical romance. Just too dated for my taste. But the love story in it is pretty hot...

Set in an earlier time

I was surprised that this was a story written and set in the 17-18th century or so. I was not sure I could enjoy the type of verbiage that this period would encore, but after hanging in there, I was surprisingly drawn to keep listening. Later-I could not stop listening. Scenes of lovemaking were potent but not vulgar. Well written! Awesome story !

Excellent

The narration was great. The males sounded like males :) it was a very steamy book. Lots of love scenes which is a huge plus. I absolutely loved him. As for her... I had my moments of eye roll or wanting to slap her. Overall, a great book. Not as good as seven years to sin but I’m eager to start the second book in this series.

Erotic

The main characters are very sexually active and explain their activities in great detail. The story is secondary.

Historical Setting Different Than Other SDay Books

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I'm not a 'historical' romance fan...bought this after reading & enjoying Sylvia Day's 2 books set in modern day. This book was o.k. but I wouldn't have purchased it if I'd known it was set in the 1800's

What three words best describe Justine Eyre’s voice?

I did not care for this narrator.
