Publisher's summary

He told me to settle. He asked what was wrong with me. He called me an easy target. That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks. I labeled him an asshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother's fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

Anti-Stepbrother

Ok, I went into this book blind but with an open mind.
There are 2 things I dislike greatly in my fiction one is drama for the sake of drama I like to call this dramalama.
Two is immaturity for a certain age, meaning if you’re in college then you shouldn’t act like you’re a freshman in high school.

This book had both those two very things but because I liked the character I thought ok it will get better. It didn’t at least not for me. And that is ok because we are all allowed to opinions.
Now I am not saying this is a horrible book and I hated it, NO that is not the case. I enjoyed a big chunk of it what I didn’t like were the 2 things I mentioned up there. ^^ I really enjoyed the side characters. I even really want Diego to get his very own story.

I guess I truly believed things would turn around and they just didn’t but I pulled through and finished the whole audiobook, I enjoyed the narration I think it was right for these characters.

I just wished for more maturity for College aged humans and less drama to make a situation seem juicier.

UGH THIS BOOK KILLED 10,000 OF MY BRAIN CELLS!!!

Any additional comments?

This book was not for me. It's a bunch of teenage drama. I was hoping it was going to be more like Stepbrother Dearest which was a great book. This was just a bunch of nothing. PS the narration was just as bad. The female narrators male voice was more like a 2016 Cookie Monster. SUCKED IM JUST SAYING . I did not finish so I never got to Vikas Adam narration.

Sweet and heart felt

I really liked this book. Had sweetness and heart tugging emotions. All the characters were well developed and I was able to connect with them easily.

Narration was on point in my opinion. Have to see what else they narrator.

First Tijan read but definitely not the last.

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

So I have this whole guilty pleasure with forbidden romances and when I saw the sign up for this, I was curious and intrigued by the title. I'm always up for a twist to the usual plot. I had never read anything by Tijan and have heard nothing but great reviews of her work. My sister raves about the Fallen Crest series all the time. With all that in mind, I decided I was going to test the Tijan waters.
Why didn't I read her work sooner? How did I go this long without reading anything by her? ~ All thoughts I had while reading this.
I loved how the story flowed and the characters never seemed be lacking whether it be the jerk of the stepbrother, the brother to the anti-brother, and friends.
I laughed, shed a couple tears, clutched my chest, wanted to wring necks, and got all kinds of hot and bothered.
This was my first Tijan book but I can most definitely say it will not be my last! I'm checking out the Fallen Crest series next.

All the stars

I often try not to write too long of a review because I don't know how many people want that much information, so I will make this short and sweet.

Funny, charming, sexy, emotional, entertaining... this audio checks ALL of my boxes. I was completely engaged, the entire book and that says a lot.

Bailey Carr narrates 90% of the book and she is positively amazing. Her voice was sweet and young and everything it should have been. Even her "male voices" were good enough to not distract from the book. Vilkas Adam only had a couple chapters but what I did hear was great. His "female voice" was kinda whiny and did pull from the story a bit but not enough to bother me. Only enough to make note.

OK STORY!!!

Where does Anti-Stepbrother rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was surprised.... it was pretty good. I think it was for YA though. College aged Young Adults who focus a lot on gossip

What does Bailey Carr and Vikas Adam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

narrators were great!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did....

eh

The narrators were great! I had a hard time finishing this with the cringe-worthy 'jokes' or 'funny things' Summer would say. Things she would say were painfully awkward and weird. The secondhand embarrassment was almost too much to handle.

I was hoping this would be a little steamer/descriptive with the sex instead of building up to it happening and then ______ nothing. Que the next day. The last few chapters were a bit much with the mom drama.... hallucinating that Kevin was her mom and he was rocking her and knew she couldn't understand what he was saying to Caden? It was too much.

CAN I GIVE IT - ( minus) STARS?

If I could give this a minus star rating I would give it a -4 at least.
I have read/listened my fair share of NA books, and I know they’re all about the drama and immature antics of mostly college kids, but this book takes all that down to a new level. I literally felt my IQ level dropping the more I listened to it.
Lastly, the narrator didn’t do it any favors either. With all due respect, this girl would be more suited for children’s or middle school books. The voices she uses literally sound like she’s impersonating a group of twelve year olds.

Good story

This audiobook was enjoyable, but a little more geared to young college age kids. The narration was well done.

Audio was great, book was... meh

I really liked the female narrator. She did a pretty good job of portraying a barely legal college freshman. I wish the male narrator had more to say, though I know that's just the way the book was written.

As for the book itself, it was not my favorite by this author. It was very new adult, high school to college drama with some some strange outcomes. Maybe I'm just burnt out on the whole step-brother hookup theme that even having it in the back story was a turn off.

Even so, the author did a good job with the flow of the story, her writing style stayed true throughout, and there were several relatable events.
