Publisher's summary

An angel with immense power and insatiable desire, Adrian Mitchell leads an elite Special Ops unit of the seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen - angels who have become vampires - and command a restless pack of indentured lycans.

But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals - losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly 200 years, he has found her: Shadoe, her soul once more inhabiting a new body that doesn’t remember him. This time he won’t let her go.

With no memory of her past as Shadoe, Lindsay Gibson knows only that she can’t help being fiercely attracted to the smoldering, seductive male who crosses her path. Swept into a dangerous world of tumultuous passion and preternatural conflict, Lindsay is soon caught between her angel lover, her vampire father, and a full-blown lycan revolt. There’s more at stake than her love and her life - she could lose her very soul....

Critic reviews

"Explodes with passion and heat. A hot, sexy angel to die for and a gutsy heroine make for one exciting read." ( New York Times best-selling author Cheyenne McCray)
"Sylvia Day spins a gorgeous adventure that combines gritty, exciting storytelling with soaring lyricism. Adrian is my favorite kind of hero - an alpha-male angel determined to win the heart of his heroine, Lindsay, while protecting her from his lethal enemy.... This is definitely a book for your keeper shelf." ( New York Times best-selling author Angela Knight)

YES, YES, YES get this one

Oh you have to be a grown up to listen to this series it is sooo smart. If you are 21 or 71 this is a good choice. Grown ups because the emotions in this will make you wish, make you dream that 1 & 1 equal 2. Pay attention this could become a long running series and you will want to be there.

There is forbidden love going on but its so honest that you don't know which way to go. You know it's good when your not exactly sure if it's okay to cheer for the bad guys in a book. Here comes the grown up part "who are the bad guys"?

I have this and book 2 and have really enjoyed them they are so hot and spicy. Our narrator can deliver such a sense of control and heat at the same time. Good going Sylvia Day keep us coming back with these stories.

Um...I liked it...kinda

Ok first off. I really enjoyed Luke Daniels narration. While he sounds somewhat awful trying to do female voices, I guess it would be more weird to have him sound better than me at it so eh.

While it did have some pretty good steam, it didn't have enough substance.

The story was decent and it had a good concept to it but it seemed to creep by, and build up without a big bang....Hey! I was waiting on that bang!!! Yeah never happened. If I did smoke, this book definitely wouldn't have earned that necessary cigarette after.

I would have liked it better if I had gotten it on a sale, but even at $7.34 I guess it was worth it. I guess you get what you pay for. And please don't take it that I'm saying don't buy it. If you can't find anything else to read and need something this pass the time this works. It just won't get you where you need to be.

Could use more character deveopment

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, it wasn't that interesting. There wasn't that much actual action.

Would you be willing to try another book from Sylvia Day? Why or why not?

I've read several of her other books.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

Elijah.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

More action.

Any additional comments?

The narrator did a great job and probably earned it an extra star. There just wasn't much character development, especially for the main characters. The only character I ended up really caring about was Elijah, and feeling sort of sorry for Adrian.

Since this is a trilogy and I already have the second book I'll continue with the story, although there's a good chance if I didn't have the second book I probably wouldn't have continued.

As of right now Audible only has the first two books of the trilogy.

Beautiful

I've always loved the fallen Angel series. This is the first one that I've listen to. It was very well written and enjoyable.

Angels and vamps!!

This is probably similar to the Eve,Cain and Abel series without the love triangle which is great. I much prefer one on one It has explicit sex and language which you would expect from Day. Nothing in her other writings has come close to the crossfire series for me even when every male lead is a Gideon look alike. If you like the supernatural twist , this one is will please you. The narrator is ok in the regular reading but in My opinion awful!!!! for the sex scenes. If only they were all Sebastian York--sigh

Angels, Vampires, and Lycans oh my!

Where does A Touch of Crimson rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's in the top ten. Most of my top ten are wriitten by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Dark Hunter series or CoN series read by Holter Graham) or Jonathan Maberry (Joe Ledger series read by Ray Porter), but this one's in there! It's an interesting twist on the fallen angel concepts and the origin of vampires and Lycans.

What other book might you compare A Touch of Crimson to and why?

In terms of originality, I'd compare it to Born of Shadows or Time Untime by Sherrilyn Kenyon. In terms of utilizing mythology, it compares to the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. I love all those series and they're all interesting and original in their own right. This one is completely original from all the other books I read or listened to. That's a rarity with romance or science fiction.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

i have listened to Luke Daniels. Even though he's always going to be Atticus O'Sullivan to me, he's really stretching his talents by doing this one. He's done well differentiating characters from the narrator voice of the story. It's awesome to hear him develop his talent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I wish they had Mr. Daniels narrate the other book. I only get the ones read by men, and even then, I only listen to a select few. Mr. Daniels is one of the few. The next book is read by a women, so I'll be buying it, but if you don't have those hang ups, I would definately get the next book.

The best... I loved it

I sooo loved this audio book. Luke did a fantastic job. Sylvia Day never disappoints, her books are always well written and the storyline keeps you hooked from the first chapter. The collaboration between Sylvia and Luke really brought it home.
