Publisher's Summary

The pressure of being a super - especially a teen super - can get to anyone, as Jim (aka Kid Sensation) has witnessed firsthand. Now he wonders if he himself might be succumbing to the strain in some way, as he can't shake the feeling that he is now being watched by some new stalker. Moreover, despite his wide slate of powers, he hasn't been able to discover a single clue to substantiate the existence of this potential new enemy, making him wonder if it's all in his head.

Looking forward to a few days of rest and hanging out with his friends, Jim's downtime is interrupted by the unsettling news that Alpha Prime, the world's greatest superhero (and Jim's father), is missing. As if that wasn't bad enough, Jim finds his world rocked by an even more ominous revelation: his deranged half-brother, Paramount, has escaped from confinement in a maximum security installation.

In the course of investigating these events and trying to ascertain what connection, if any, there is between them, Jim becomes privy to information concerning a potent alien device capable of laying waste to the entire planet. But he's not the only one - an enigmatic villain wants the alien technology for his own purposes, and it's up to Jim to find a way to stop him before the world pays the ultimate price.

A book of Revelations!

For a YA book, this doesn't read like YA. My kids and I listen to it together, and we enjoy it immensely and helps us on our long drives. I have to say, this book really stepped up to the plate, and it reminded me of book 1. It had a lot of depth and characterizations that were well played, and the romance became believable. Some of the background/secondary characters finally see some action, and we have a villain who is a real honest to God threat.

One thing my sone pointed out was that Kid Sensation isn't always smart in the way he does stuff, or the way he reacts or over someone. I pointed out that that is exactly how teenagers behave. I even explained that just because one is smart or skilled does it mean that they will utilize their full potential all the time. For all his powers, Sensation is a falliable human being, just a teenager going through what all teens do. So it became a good learning life lesson, too. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like ME, will decide based on my review.

As always, Naramore does an amazing job narratiing, and I firmly believe that he elevates Hardman's work to a new level. I think this everytime I listen to him. This is a great series, and so far, it keeps getting better.

A Solid Addition To The Series

Kid Sensation’s criminal half-brother, Paramount has escaped from a superhero maximum security prison. Alpha Prime, their Superman-like father is mysteriously missing. There is an alien device capable of destroying the planet and a particular super villain is after it. So just another day in the life of Kid Sensation. This is an excellent entry in an already excellent series. Not only should you check out “Revelation,” you should also pick up the other books in this series. Unless of course, you’re not into superhero, sci-fi fantasy stories.

Finally, this audiobook was provided by the author at no cost in exchange for an honest review, courtesy of Audio Book Boom.

Let me start with "viruses are not alive"

I'll start with I really like these books This is supposed to be a young adult book and I just think it is irresponsible of the Arthor to not just simple facts like weigher viruses are a live or not. Yes i know it is a fantasy novel but this was not part of his lore it's just an alternative fact that he thought he knew correctly.

As for the rest of the book i like I have a pet P about books that "breaks characters". Meaning that they establish the characteristics of a particular character (e.g. is for giving but in this book is not for giving.) The whole book the main character was paranoid about one character for good reasons but he has never shown this trait before. In fact in this very same book a person approaches him who he has even more reason to be paranoid about a he was the one telling everyone to chill and let's give him a chance. So when a couple of chapters later he is for lack of a better word gunho about not giving someone a second chance and flys into a blind rage at the mere site of a person. That is when i say the author broke his character.

I do like elements that he has added and where the books is going but i do believe that in this book the enemy is taken way too lightly and more extreme measures should be taken. Oh yeah the enemy has the ability to wipe out the whole world and also thinks of us a insect. Your response should not be well people try to kill us all the time. Let help them so they can get off world a bring torror the Galaxy.

great series

this series takes a bit to set the main characters in place but eventually gets there. It takes some liberties with common sense deductions but overall great storybook experience. It is a excellent read for the young at heart but as an adult I still found it entertaining. can't wait for the adult version.

Another great superhero novel

Hardman knocks it out of the park again. This can be listened to as a stand alone, but you are really missing out if you don’t listen or read Hardman’s other Kid Sensation books. Without revealing to much plot, this story follows Jim, Electra, Smoky and sometimes Lee as they try to solve the disappearance of one of the world’s greatest heroes. There are many really good plot twists. Naramore is a great narrator. Not only in these novels but also in Hardman’s other series’ as well.

A good superhero book with lots of adventures

Kid Sensation: Revelation is a good superhero story, but a lot happens in the book. In a way, it reminds me of a series of a TV show with multiple episodes that tie together. Jim is rejoined by his superhero friends and makes a bunch of new friends along the way as well as some new enemies. The narrator of these audiobooks is excellent. He does a great job with character voices and really makes the books come alive. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Entertaining

Teen super, and Kid Sensation, Jim is back for another adventurous mission to save the planet. A bit of an exciting cliff hanger ending when Jim's stalker is revealed. Great narration.

Interesting return

A character returns, but not how you would expect. Most of the big leagues are missing (after ready Mouse’s Tale it’s a bit disappointing, which you should read before this book). Kid meets some family, saves the world from imminent destruction but this time with help from an unlikely source. I wouldn’t say it was the best of the first 4, but I would attribute that to Kid’s attitude through the book. If he wasn’t being so stubborn and brattish about the situation, the story would have felt smoother.

The true sequel to the first Kid Sensation book

Kevin Hardman never ceases to amaze me with this series. The first three books were good(even though, I find the second book to be a bit of a letdown) but this latest book is easily the best in the Kid Sensation series so far and the true sequel to the first book. What do I mean? Much as I loved the first book and enjoyed the third book, the second book came off as a letdown. And while I cannot focus much on that book, this book I find made up for the shortcomings of book two. For starters, Jim's character arc is impeccable. Unlike the last three books where Jim was facing some exterior threat, the conflict with him is a lot more personal, given Paramount is involved. Not only does this build off well from the first book but it is much-needed character development. I also enjoyed Smoky and Elektra during this book. They had solid introductions in the first book but this is where the group dynamic I found really started to form and I started to care a lot. So what holds this story back. Two things. One is very minor and the other is moderate. The minor thing is that this book ends on a cliffhanger. It isn't bad because the rest of the story is good but it is annoying and will depend on how that tale resolves itself for me to accept his. The bigger issue I had with the book is that the main villains and their motivation while fine, felt very crammed during the last portion of the book. A lot of this is conveyed through exposition and while it isn't bad, I just wished that it could have been spread out more. An exposition is an important tool but it runs the risk of bogging down the story which during the last half I felt that. Mikael Naramore's performance is amazing as always. Though, if I had any gripes it is that some of his male voices, like Paramount, sound a bit too similar to Alpha prime at points to where it became confusing. This is very minor but for purposes of this review, I need to be honest. Overall, this book is still good and I enjoyed it for its character work even if its plot was shaky. I'd highly recommend it for Kid Sensation fans and absolutely showcases Hardman's talent as an author.

Revel in this story

Another action packed book that's a big hit with me, with all the twist and turns it certainly keeps you hooked. With most of the super hero's on holiday or out fighting crime it's up to the teen supers to step up to the plate and keep the world safe. For one that turns out to be a tall order, Jim's father Alpha Prime has gone missing and in trying to track him down he stumbles on a deadly plot to destroy the earth, as well as a few family secrets. Can he and the other teen capes foil the super villain's plans This was a great book as it never quite took the direction you thought it was going to go and I loved learning more about Jim's family. I have listened to the other books in the series so it was nice to expanded on his home life but at the same time the author does it in such a way that if you haven't read the previous books it's still easy to follow. The narrator is quickly becoming one of my favourite readers as he does such a good job

Entertaining Superhero Fun

I received a free review copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review. Revelations is book 4 in the Kid Sensation series and the audiobook did not disappoint, it is another fun enjoyable listen filed with action, snark and humour. As always the narrator did a brilliant job giving life to the many different characters and also bringing story together as a whole. There are the customary twists and Jim (Kid Sensation) saving the world whilst navigating the trials of being a teenage super and dealing with family drama. Another great addition to the series, looking forward to the next one, would definitely recommand.

The title is very apt

The title is very apt, there are definite surprises in this book and more of Jim's background and family is revealed. As with all the others in the series, I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.

Another Easy 5 stars

It's always good to fuel my Kid Sensation Audio kick and the pairing of Hardman and Naramore always do well. I have tried a few other super stories and the majority dont catch me like these do so i can only recommend this to all. Usual thrills, twists and engaging characters abound especially if you have followed these stories from the start.
