Publisher's Summary

The pressure of being a super - especially a teen super - can get to anyone, as Jim (aka Kid Sensation) has witnessed firsthand. Now he wonders if he himself might be succumbing to the strain in some way, as he can't shake the feeling that he is now being watched by some new stalker. Moreover, despite his wide slate of powers, he hasn't been able to discover a single clue to substantiate the existence of this potential new enemy, making him wonder if it's all in his head.

Looking forward to a few days of rest and hanging out with his friends, Jim's downtime is interrupted by the unsettling news that Alpha Prime, the world's greatest superhero (and Jim's father), is missing. As if that wasn't bad enough, Jim finds his world rocked by an even more ominous revelation: his deranged half-brother, Paramount, has escaped from confinement in a maximum security installation.

In the course of investigating these events and trying to ascertain what connection, if any, there is between them, Jim becomes privy to information concerning a potent alien device capable of laying waste to the entire planet. But he's not the only one - an enigmatic villain wants the alien technology for his own purposes, and it's up to Jim to find a way to stop him before the world pays the ultimate price.

A book of Revelations!

For a YA book, this doesn't read like YA. My kids and I listen to it together, and we enjoy it immensely and helps us on our long drives. I have to say, this book really stepped up to the plate, and it reminded me of book 1. It had a lot of depth and characterizations that were well played, and the romance became believable. Some of the background/secondary characters finally see some action, and we have a villain who is a real honest to God threat.

One thing my sone pointed out was that Kid Sensation isn't always smart in the way he does stuff, or the way he reacts or over someone. I pointed out that that is exactly how teenagers behave. I even explained that just because one is smart or skilled does it mean that they will utilize their full potential all the time. For all his powers, Sensation is a falliable human being, just a teenager going through what all teens do. So it became a good learning life lesson, too. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like ME, will decide based on my review.

As always, Naramore does an amazing job narratiing, and I firmly believe that he elevates Hardman's work to a new level. I think this everytime I listen to him. This is a great series, and so far, it keeps getting better.

A Solid Addition To The Series

Kid Sensation’s criminal half-brother, Paramount has escaped from a superhero maximum security prison. Alpha Prime, their Superman-like father is mysteriously missing. There is an alien device capable of destroying the planet and a particular super villain is after it. So just another day in the life of Kid Sensation. This is an excellent entry in an already excellent series. Not only should you check out “Revelation,” you should also pick up the other books in this series. Unless of course, you’re not into superhero, sci-fi fantasy stories.

Finally, this audiobook was provided by the author at no cost in exchange for an honest review, courtesy of Audio Book Boom.

Let me start with "viruses are not alive"

I'll start with I really like these books This is supposed to be a young adult book and I just think it is irresponsible of the Arthor to not just simple facts like weigher viruses are a live or not. Yes i know it is a fantasy novel but this was not part of his lore it's just an alternative fact that he thought he knew correctly.

As for the rest of the book i like I have a pet P about books that "breaks characters". Meaning that they establish the characteristics of a particular character (e.g. is for giving but in this book is not for giving.) The whole book the main character was paranoid about one character for good reasons but he has never shown this trait before. In fact in this very same book a person approaches him who he has even more reason to be paranoid about a he was the one telling everyone to chill and let's give him a chance. So when a couple of chapters later he is for lack of a better word gunho about not giving someone a second chance and flys into a blind rage at the mere site of a person. That is when i say the author broke his character.

I do like elements that he has added and where the books is going but i do believe that in this book the enemy is taken way too lightly and more extreme measures should be taken. Oh yeah the enemy has the ability to wipe out the whole world and also thinks of us a insect. Your response should not be well people try to kill us all the time. Let help them so they can get off world a bring torror the Galaxy.

Great book but with a dim-witted main character

Overall a great book but i have one major problem with this author. He talks about how his main character has a genius level IQ, but at every turn this same main character displays the intelligence of a 3rd grader with a severe mental handicap. I don't like making that kind of a comparison for obvious reasons, but when multiple people have to explain to this "genius" why a person who has lost 90% of their brain is not going to remember anything even if it grows back, it makes me wonder what this authors definition of genius actually is. This was only one example of many such instances throughout this and his previous books.

Must read addition to Kid Sensation series!

This is an enjoyable, easy to listen to book with a fast-paced story line, lots of action and characters that are wonderfully developed. This addition has more about Jim's extended family so there is a much greater variety of people to read about. This author has done a great job of creating the Kid Sensation series. I am looking forward to many more hours of listening as he continues writing.

Superhero for the modern age

Kid sensation is the superhero for the modern age. He is a hip teen descended from superhero and alien lineage. His powers are vast and are still growing as is he. The combination possibilities for his powers are limited only by imagination. His friends are loyal, his enemies are cunning, the government sees him as a threat. Now he discovers his family is more than he imagined it was. What will this revelation cost him? Be ready for some big twists and some rough realities for our hero to face. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Good Listen

I really like Hardman's books, and this was no exception. I do have to say I wasn't as crazy about some aspects of the story, however. The main character seems somewhat dense in regards to his powers and relationship skills. There were really no surprises and after a few chapters his father and uncle just sort of disappear, I know why, but it would have been nice to know more. The best part for me was the bringing together of more supers and their interactions.

Great Story!

What did you love best about Revelation?

All the twists and unexpected turns.

What did you like best about this story?

Non-stop action.

Have you listened to any of Mikael Naramore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

An outstanding performance, as always. I love that he does different voices/accents for each character.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You'll only need the edge of your seat!

Another bullseye!!!

All I can say is Coronation can't get here fast enough. At least in audio Mikael Naramore really adds something to this series with his narration.
