Amazing book

Can’t wait for the second one. I really liked the book. Amazing narration and story.

A great first book

The narrators really bring the different characters to life, which is only makes the interesting cast stand out even more. The story overall leaves me wanting more and I hope the second book gets the same treatment as this one. The world building is extremely interesting and makes me excited to learn more. Overall, the story was a great introduction to this demon infested world. I can't wait to see what Sal, Divinity, and the other students have to over come next.

My First Review after 2000 Audio Books

I was captivated by the first chapter and found I did not want to turn it off to go to sleep. I just kept playing the story.
I have always liked the Academy theme sci-fi books, but this one has twist after twist, and I couldn't wait to hear what was going to happen next. I liked the main character and how he thought out his challenges and mostly avoided potential problems.
The writing by Brian Nordon was excellent, and the narration is perfect. I am 15 chapters into this and hate to have to go to work.
I will look for anything new this author brings us.

I want to be in the movie

Great story telling. Captivating. Creative use of voices and felt like a radio play rather than just a book on tape. If you like adventure and fun, click and enjoy.

Excellent book and great start to a new series

Great progression book and world building. Book on ends way to quick leaving you wanting book 2 in the series on audible. But it was a great progression fantasy.

Great Story, Progression, Narration and Characters

This book was phenomenal! I loved the characters.

This story had a main character that has incredible potential and yet still has troubles. I love his choices and how he handles the troubles that come his way.

The secondary characters were just the right balance of "screen time" and allowed the main character to shine without going off too much.

The narrators did a fabulous job.

Trust me, this one is worth the listen

This is a true hidden gem that deserves way more recognition. Not only is the world building complete and engrossing but this book feels like a breath of fresh air no matter the genre you are coming from.

All the characters and especially the MC, Sal, have their own complexities and handle situations in a real way. Nothing feels hollow or phoned in about any character. It’s a bit of a trope at this point but Sal is one of the few main characters I’ve encountered that actually feels intelligent. There’s no stumbling through based off blind luck. Moreover so many characters are likable and you quickly find yourself picking out your favorites.

As many other reviewers have mentioned, it’s the sort of book you really can’t put down. There are just so many things to draw you in whether it’s the world building, characters, or just looking forward to the next challenge they have to overcome. Absolutely cannot wait for the next book!
