Publisher's Summary

As the grandson of the alien princess Indigo, Jim (aka Kid Sensation) has always known that, technically, he's royalty. That said, he'd be the first to admit that he's never lived any kind of regal lifestyle - no titles, no castles, no crown jewels. However, the arrival of a courier from his grandmother's home world changes all of that in an instant. By royal edict, Jim is summoned home to the distant planet Caeles in order to claim an alien inheritance. Unfortunately, this is no warm and cuddly family reunion. Caeles is a hotbed of political intrigue, and Jim's arrival has widespread ramifications. Not only are several factions attempting to utilize his very existence as leverage to advance their own agendas, but Jim himself is required to submit to an archaic trial known as a prexetus. Moreover, while some are content with simply trying to use him, it quickly becomes apparent that at least one shadowy individual just wants Jim out of the way - quickly, completely, and permanently. Light years from Earth, with little family and fewer friends, Jim faces the daunting task of finding an enemy whose ultimate purpose is unknown and whose methods are extreme. Complicating matters even further is the fact that Jim's much-heralded super powers are glitching, making him incredibly vulnerable for perhaps the first time in his life.

Kid Sensation goes off planet

Wow, we are on the fifth book already! What a great ride this has been so far. I must say that as we go further in, the stories keep improving and getting deeper and deeper with their plots, characteizations, and dialogue. Hardman is cetainly improving as he goes.

Coronation is no exception, either. This book literally blasts off, taking the great Kid Sensation into outer space, to his other homeworld, where he is once again called upon make like a hero.

This is part of a series, but I really feel like it could be a stand alone story. It has legs that are that strong. You could literally come into this series with this book, and be able to follow along happily, not that you'd want to after all, the other stuff is fantastic. Here we get to see the Kid facing an unknown enemy, right when his powers are failing him for the first time in his life.

Hardman continues to step up his game, and it really feels as if KS is finally growing as a character, along with the rest of the cast. The plots are evolving and amping up. I did want to say that KS reminds me of Marvel's Jack of Hearts character, alien royalty with immense powers. I know it is not exactly accurate, but I like the comparison.

I really enjoy it when the stakes are raised, and hope seems to dwindle, and man does this story deliver here. I will say this book is a great new chapter in the KS series. It is a rebirth and a new beginning and has opened up the entire universe as part of Kid Sensation's playground.

Per usual, Naramore does an amazing job narrating. He has become Kid Sensation, and now whenever I hear him in another story I always expect to have KS show up. In one way that is awesome, in another, it is a little disappointing. Because you want more Kid in any story. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Yes that was good

That was the best kid sensation book of them all just beautiful I want more and i want it to be a longer more robust novel.
I have to admit that after the last book i was disappointed in how he made so many character contradictions. But he redeemed himself with this one.

Still good

This was a fun installment, i had been wanting some more extraterrestrial action in this series. There were a few narrative issues that bugged me a bit in this book that were less prevalent in other books. Kid usually does do stupid stuff on impulse to create drama and while that is a bit of a lazy writing style in general, it makes some sense for Kid to behave that way on earth where he has confidence in his abilities and understanding of the stakes. Behaving that way immediately upon arriving in a foreign political atmosphere when his powers are on the fritz felt... well it seemed dumb like he was making extra obvious bad decisions for the plot. Kid's behavior was also extra jerkish and petulant in this book. Every time someone said or suggested anything that wasn't perfectly in line with his normal worldview he would go into an outrageous stuttering fit exclaiming how it was madness or somesuch, only to have the obvious rational explanations of how social norms are viewed differently on this planet laid out for him. the lesson is repeated several times to the point where he has to be deliberately being obtuse. regardless it was still worth listening to and expands the universe pretty well. Naramore is awesome as always.

An excellent superhero story

Coronation is an excellent superhero story in which Kid Sensation (aka Jim) visits an alien world, meets his grandmother, and repeatedly saves the day. If you enjoy superhero stories, the Kid Sensation series is a terrific bunch of books to read (or listen to). They are good independently, but they are better if you read them all (in order). The narrator of these books does a superb job bringing the stories to life. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Another smash sensation

The shear imagination and creativity of the characters really makes you FEEL like you are a fly on the wall watching it all. Nothing short on amazement of the story line. On to Amped, I can't wait to know what's next. Thank you again Kevin.

Superhero and Alien Prince

How would you deal with being a superhero, and an alien prince? When Kid Sensation is called back to his grandmother's home planet, he learns just how different royal life is. He's surrounded by people he doesn't know, and when all goes wrong he's not sure who to turn to for help. Even without his super team, Kid Sensation was still able to navigate his superpowers to help those in need. I really enjoyed listening to how the two parts of his life came together to give the character more depth. A definite must read. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook, and this is my honest review.

Jim is so typically american.

loud, boastful, prideful, and very immature. Trying to impose his viewpoint on people of a completely different culture, refusing to listen to reason. Made it hard to listen to. Wanted to yell at him, "GROW UP. QUIT ACTING LIKE A PUNK".

Being a Royal isn't All It's Cracked Up to Be

When Kid Sensation gets summoned to his grandmother's home planet of Caeles he doesn't know just what to expect. He's excited to see his ancestral home and meet the family, but it quickly becomes clear that not everybody's as thrilled to have him there. In fact, somebody wants him dead. To make matters worse, the powers he's come to depend on aren't always entirely reliable as his body adjusts to the alien environment . I enjoyed watching Jim hobnobbing with royalty and learning about his heritage and history on a new planet. The same slightly snarky brashness and naivety that I've come to love comes through as he makes new friends and charms the adults. If you've hung in through the first 4 of these I don't need to tell you anything more than that this is more of the same. If you haven't followed Jim's adventures in the super kid trials, at school and getting to know dear old dad, go back and read them. They're a lot of fun, and this one will make more sense after you do.

Wow, this book is out of this world

This series just gets better and better and I thought book one was brilliant, so it tells you something about this one. This book definitely lead to some arh! moment's. It was very cleverly done the way some irreverent fact at the start of the book has some bearing later on. It's one book that I will be listening to again soon just to pick up on facts that I know have more meaning. Not that it wasn't good the first time round. The book picks up from where the last book (Revelation) finished with Kid Sensation flying to another planet summoned by his grand mother for royal reasons. So not only is he on his own in a strange planet , with a whole new language to learn (love what his name translates too!) His powers that make him special and keep him safe are playing up and it turns out someone is intent on stopping him from taking up his royal duties even if that means killing him, know matter who is in the way. Not trusting his powers can he trust his new friends to keep him and the Queen alive? The narrator really does a brilliant job and the change in his voice for certain characters is just amazing and really adds to an already great book.

Space worthy story

Great twists and new adventures ahead as Kid Sensation goes Inter Galactic. A few obvious bits but some nice twists and it was nice to see Kid Sensation doing outside the norm. Without spoilers this book has made life a lot more interesting for the entire series personally and professionally. Cant fault the storyline or the narration as solid efforts from both as usual.

Following on from the cliffhanger of Revelation

Following on from the cliffhanger of Revelation, Jim is summoned to Caeles, the alien planet where his grandmother lives as a princess. Unfortunately it's not a simple family visit and there seem to be many people trying to kill him or at least get him out of the way. Throw in some time travel, his powers going wonky and even some romantic affairs and things just keep getting more complicated for Jim.

Very Entertaining!

Hard to stop listening to!  Lots of action, twists, and "wait-a-minutes."  An excellent continuation of the Kid Sensation story
