Once I hit play, I couldn't quit listening!

What did you love best about Red Hot Property?

In Red Hot Property Devin O’Branagan introduces richly dimensional characters and Rebecca Cook gives each one the perfect voice. Once I hit the play button, Rebecca’s intimate delivery lulled me into a world where anything can happen. Between the author’s amazing imagination and the narrator’s wonderful acting ability, the story became a personal experience. I laughed and cried. My spirit was roused and I emotionally connected to every character and circumstance. There is never a dull moment! Something interesting is always happening and now that it is over, I want more! Red Hot Property is smart, funny, joyful, insightful, and motivating, but it is NEVER predictable. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone looking for the kind of experience that takes you on an emotional ride and leaves you ready for more. I so look forward to the sequel, Red Hot Liberty.

The eventful life of a real estate agent

When I learned that Red Hot Property was available in audio format, I was excited because I loved the ebook version so much. At the same time, I was a bit anxious: would the narrator be up to the task of giving life to such a wonderful book? I didn't need to worry. Rebecca Cook did a really great job, the voices she gave the characters were perfect.
Now, for the book itself. Ah, a book I loved to read and re-read and now I'll love to listen to again and again!
Characters so real they could be your colleagues, your neigbors, the people you see at the store when doing your shopping. They are alive, all of them, even the very bad ones. Even the dog was a wonderful character!
As for the story, Molly is like so many of us, trying her best to give her daughter a good life but making mistakes. And the life of a real estate agent is far more difficult that she thought; more dangerous, too!
When reading this book, I laughed a lot, was afraid from time to time and was even sad when... but I won't give away the story! Let's say that I never felt bored with this book. In fact, I loved this book so much that I bought the second one in this series right when it came out. Oh, and I hope Red Hot Liberty is soon available at Audible, too!

My first Audible book has me hooked!

If you could sum up Red Hot Property in three words, what would they be?

Fun, heartfelt, exciting

What was one of the most memorable moments of Red Hot Property?

There is a scene of the agents taking a whirlwind tour of the properties the firm has listed. Hilarious! This whole book is full of great moments, really!

Any additional comments?

You don't have to know anything about the real estate business - I didn't - before pouring yourself a glass of tea, grabbing a Snuggie, and settling down to listen. The cast of characters in this drama/comedy/thriller/musical theater/romance of a book are over-the-top in the best sense of that expression. But they're also sometimes-frustratingly human (except for the dogs, but even they seem a bit human!) and always convincingly true. Family, clients, co-workers, dogs, and even the walking disasters all have a heartbeat and an individual voice. And all of them have depth, not just some pale, watery wash for a hint of color on their pages. Nope. These people live and breathe, kiss and back-stab, scream and whisper, party and do serious business, cry and laugh - all to a riotous background of thumping, familiar music that makes the whole book dance on a desktop and swear its reality from the backseat of a convertible lowrider named Destiny.

I'm stealing a line from the author when I say this, I know, but I do want to tell you that Red Hot Property is one great place to call home!

outstanding

Phew! Where do I start? I just finished this and my emotions are raw, the ending just broke my heart and ended up crying. No worries, the heroine is fine and she will find her HEA. I liked Molly most of the story, but towards the end I just wanted to slap her. It took her daughter's disappearance for her to come out of her head. I do commend her for coming to her senses and despite her rough beginnings she did turn her life around.

The author gave us a really good story about the harsh realities of real estate business, the choices a single mother faces and Molly is one of the lucky ones.

It is Val that really burrowed in my heart from the start, I will miss him terribly, he will be my book boyfriend in spirit.

Great variety of secondary characters, some that I loved, some that I loved to hate.

I found this book because the narrator, Rebecca Cook is one of my faves and she did an outstanding job as usual. The variety of voices, the passion, the feelings came across crystal clear along with the gender and age of the characters. Her rendition of Val was superb, I laughed ... and cried... and will miss his zest of life.
