Publisher's summary

America, as we know it, is gone.

The survivors are being hunted. Foreign troops search daily for Sidney Bannister and her new family, systematically eliminating their means of survival. She’s gone on the offensive, but will her initiative bring further pain and suffering to the family?

Lieutenant Jake Murphy’s mission to Washington, DC, hit a major snag when they discovered that the nation’s capital was completely overrun and inaccessible. Will New York City hold the answers they seek or was their trip across country all in vain?

The remnants of the US Army, trapped at Fort Bliss, are desperate for answers as unknown forces intercept their communications, further isolating them from the fragmented government. Nearly a year after the rise of the infected, a road-weary traveler finally makes it back to the States with information that will change everything. Just how far is America’s military willing to go for revenge?

Follow the action as the Sidney’s Way storyline from the Five Roads to Texas series draws to an end.

Excellent

Story keeps getting better. All MC’s are likable. Interested to see where Sidney’s story goes with the now wheel chair bound Lt. and the Grady and Hannah striking out.

Another great addition to the series

These books are not stand alone. They build off events in previous books in the Five Roads to Texas series. This review will contain spoilers to earlier books.

Another great addition to the series. Jake, Grady and team are in New York to connect with the scientists to see if Grady holds the key to a cure or vaccine. Navigating New York turns out to be more hostile then they imagined.

Simultaneously Sydney, Vern, Mark and the rest of that found family have lost the safety of the farm and are now working to create a new haven. Plus, they’re determined to do their part in eliminating enemies of any form.

The infected pose less of a threat than humans that continue to turn on each other in new and surprising ways. Lots of suspense and action in this book, but I also love the strong friendships forged.

Like the others, this is a complete and enjoyable book – but the series has more to come. I’m all caught up and looking forward to what comes next.

Narration:
Andrew B Wehrlen does a great job again. So happy to have him as the voice of this series.
