First one better, this one meh...

I rarely listen to live stories, but I got the furst book on a whim. it was pretty good and when I saw that the 2nd had come out I bought it. it was a disappointment. I agree with a lot of the comments about the sex scenes. I could care less about reading sex scenes, but there did seem to be one in every other page. Kind of stupid. I liked the narrator for Isolde but the male narrator sucked. didn't match the character for Adrian at all. he made him sound whiny and weak. he actually was a bit weaker in the second book than the first. Isolde was kind of lame in a lot of annoying ways too. I don't know why romance writers seem to make even strong female characters still do stupid whiny things when they deal with men. I don't have much interest in book 3 but might get it if it's really inexpensive since the 2nd book ended so annoyingly abrupt. a cliff ganger is one thing but the end here was stupid.

I couldn’t finish it.

I really enjoyed the first one and preordered this one but I couldn’t even finish it. The plot was somehow both slow and confusing. The main characters seemed less authentic and their motivations were childish. The dialogue was weak and I kept getting hung up on the over usage use of the word “said”. She said. He said. She said. She said. It’s true you can overuse a thesaurus but in this case I felt like one was really needed. I feel like the author has a lot or irons in the fire and is managing lots of different projects which left this one a little out on its own in the cold. I really hope the same thing doesn’t happen to her Touch of/Game of series because I will be devastated….

Intoxicating

I loved the first book in this series but the reviews for this one made me nervous. I'm so glad I didn't listen to them! I think there are things left open that will all come together in the next book. I am so invested in Adrian and Isoldes love. This book made me feel so much heartache for them. They have loved each other through centuries and it's like they can't have the peace they long for with one another. Honestly, I am captivated by this story, I never want it to end. I love their passion for one another and the way they possess each other. The way he loves her... I think Adrian is my celebrity crush. lol. It's hot, steamy, passionate, intoxicating, thrilling and heartbreaking. The female narrator was good, I enjoyed her as Idolde and actually i think she did a great job with Adrian as well. The male narrator was not my favorite, I think he was just not what I thought Adrian's voice would be like and I didn't love his voices for some of the other characters.... That being said, it doesn't take away from the book at all for me. I cannot wait for the next one to come out!!!

Loved the first book, the second fell flat tho…

I was stoked after reading the first book of this series - great storyline and world building, it had me hooked! But the second book was a big let down- it just fell flat for me. Not much pushing forward the storyline, boring a lot of the times, and the heroine is a bit whiny & selfish in this one. I was just disappointed.

great series

The female voice is amazing! The male voice is horrid, it's not recorded with a good microphone and his voice is so unmatched to the story. it's so hard to listen to the Adrian chapters, it literally made me cringe. I bought the physical book just to read those sections myself, it's seriously that bad. But the female voice is amazing and I couldn't stop listening to the 1st book because of her.

Ready for More…

This installment was amazing! I understand the negative reviews because it did move much slower than book one. However, the story is still very rich and written in a beautiful way. Please listen to book 2 a lot happened and it was important to the movement of the story; things were revealed (jaw dropping moments) definitely an emotional roller coaster, but so worth it. No disrespect to the male narrator however, he is not needed. I feel like it distracted us from the flow. Lilly does an amazing job with all of the character’s voices; there is no need for Curt to narrate the chapters that belong belong to Adrian. So much was left unanswered. I definitely hope that book 3 closes the loop on a lot of things. I appreciate the extra chapter it was beautiful and sexy, but a little disjointed. I love Adrian and Isolde I hope we get the HEA we all have been waiting for!! 🥰🥰 This story is sexy, and gritty, definitely for adults! Enjoy.

Hard to listen to the male narration

I returned this audible because I couldn't get past the male narrator. IDK I felt like it was a cowboy not even trying to get into character. Please let Lilly Drake do the narration alone on the next book.

Good story idea but not well executed

The story itself is a good idea but the writing of the story was confusing at times. I got lost in some of the storyline with there not being good transitions from one thought process of the main character to another. also I was not prepared for the intense sexual scenes and quantity of them in this book. however if that is something you enjoy this maybe a book for you. Respectfully.
