Publisher's Summary

Cooper Nelson’s SEAL career was cut drastically short when an explosion left him almost completely deaf. With so much of his pride and self-worth tied to the profession he loved above all else, Coop struggles in his nearly silent new world, his future seemingly bleak…until Commander Hurt badgers him into volunteering at the Riverton School for the Deaf. There, he meets teacher Kiera Hamilton, who opens his eyes - and his heart - to a love more fulfilling than any job could be.

Ten years his senior, Kiera can’t believe Coop would ever be interested in anything long term, but he patiently proves her wrong. And she’s not the only one enamored with the sexy former-SEAL - her impressionable first-grade students are enthralled with the man, especially Frankie. The troubled young boy flourishes with each of Cooper’s visits, which only makes Kiera fall harder.

As he learns ASL, connects with the students, and gets closer to Kiera, Coop’s happier than he’s ever been…until an attempted abduction at the school threatens to take away everything that makes his new life worth living.

**Protecting Kiera is the 9th book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone, but it’s recommended you listen to the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

Loooed it!

Awesome! Love Stella Bloom’s narrative, she acts the parts, instead of just reading the book.

A good listen!

Coop and Kiera have been eyeing each other for weeks. He’s volunteering at the school she works at as a teacher and she in return can’t keep her eyes off he man.

Things happen that put them together at the right time and place and they finally acknowledge the desire to get to know each other... and maybe more.

Coop becomes a big part of her life, quickly and the daily routines of teaching and having a life outside of work pull Kiera and he closer.

When one of her students is in trouble Kiera jumps in to help... only to have the big man she’s head over heels for come to her rescue.

It’s a quick, sweet read! #TeamCoop

Yup! Another Winner

I love this short but sweet story about Cooper. Last time we saw him he had just been injured while on duty. I loved that we got his story and got to experience his happily ever after with him and Kiera.

Too short, but good

It's always a treat when another Susan Stoker book comes out. I basically liked this story, just wish it had been longer. It was nice Tex and other characters were albeit briefly.

Good

What the heck? Why did they change the character of Sweede to Tex? I read this book first on my Kindle and kept waiting for Sweede to enter the scene. Not sure why Stoker changed characters, unless she was trying to find a way to insert Annie into this story. I prefer the version with Sweede, even though both stories are good.

Not my favorite, but still good

I have always enjoyed Susan Stokers stories about brave men protecting women. For some reason, this story didn’t keep my attention as well as previous books. I felt the story was rather simple and lacked much in the way of fleshing out the characters in the way I was used to her writing. It was still an enjoyable listening experience, but it could have been more. Narration was well done.
