No"Wow Factor"

That "wow factor" this book talks about... yeah, it's totally missing. From all the books I've bought from Audible, this has been the only one to make me feel like I wasted my time.

Having lived it, his enthusiasm for the wide world of digital promotion is infectious.

Coming from the publishing world, the usefulness of his perspective is a perfect fit for my needs.

Good Course to Review the Basics

What did you love best about Platform?

It moved along great and Micheal is a great reader. Clear and articulate made it easy to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I had to break it up in order to stay engaged. While the reading of it was great and it moved along great, the information was tedious and became just a lot of information. I would have to stop and give myself a break to be engaged again.

Any additional comments?

The information was good, but not real informative. It was however a great refresher and motivator to get back to doing things that you've let slip.

Overall Good Suggestions, Little Outdated

All good suggestions - some of the tech info (e.g. regarding Twitter) seem outdated but besides that this book contains excellent marketing suggestions. I can honestly say I learned a lot.

A good "how to" guide

Very helpful material and can serve as a good reference guide (I plan to get the print edition for this). The pace of reading is a little fast. Pauses between chapters and section headings would be helpful.

MH is the Expert

Book is a good overview of the platform concept created by the author. Demonstrates the richness of the concept. More than a year of podcast material, all in one place and integrated nicely. Michael Hyatt never fails to add value.

I have been looking for direction on how to make my platform bigger, with tools that easy to understand and effective to implement.

I would certainly recommend this audiobook to anyone looking to build their personal brand. Some great how-to steps in here.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked having a lot of detailed steps to building a platform.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I wasn't thrilled about the narration - the author doing it himself. I understand why he did, though. In a book all about building your own brand and putting yourself out in the world, he kind of had to narrate it himself or risk inauthenticity. (is that a word?)
