Interesting MC, good flow of the story

The narrator is a bit slow, but if you speed it up you get a nicer experience.

The story is good and the MC is quite interesting.

A more believable MC

I like how the MC isn't a complete and total do gooder trope. He has faults and struggles, but tries to do the best he can. A great book. Really looking forward to book 2. I've already pre-ordered it.

I can't wait to buy and listen to the next book in the series. I hope this turns into a lengthy series, it has the potential.

Grade A Book

I actually enjoyed this book. There were a lot of details and the MC was a person who knows the struggle. I like that he had a family that was good to him and he enjoyed it. I don't want to give to much away, but what I will say is his growth process is going to be amazing. this book was basically setting up all the struggles he is about to face in order to become a monster (OP) AND I LOVE THAT. It ended with me wanting more /cry. Keep up the good work Blaise, I know this series is what we needed from you.

Nice,world building needs help but good overall

Don't exactly understand the magic systems. The story is relatable but missing some substance. I will follow the next book in series.

wonderful start

thanks for writing and performing a book that activally makes me want to hear the rest of the story! it's rare to be spending credits on preorder for a second book when I've got others I'm listing to that already have the next book out but this one I will. ( hey author feel like gifting Me the third book I'll definitely write an honest review and if the quality is the same as the first it will be an epic one!!)

Stated out slow but great

I wasn't expecting this to be so good once it got into the story. The MC started out dumb as a box of rocks then woke up halfway through and start doing common sense things such as working out to get stronger and train, then starting to kill people who are trying to kill him. I would like him to get more serious for the summoning and ask his contracted spirit to help him become the strongest in history. I also hope he doesn't shy away from killing humans, in the next one or this is going to be returned so fast Corvin won't have time to spend the credit.

I love this story, it keeps you guessing how the story will unfold. Excited to see more of this world unfold, please keep writing, great narration too!!

Pretty good...

For those quick scrolling... so far it's worth it. Narrator was weird at first... but easy to get used to afterward. So go ahead.

Now... For the more in depth bit.

I'm near the end of the book so I'm going to edit this once finished. I nearly stopped the book and returned it when the MC got put into a "Summoner" class. I hate the idea of that power set. I would hate to have to communicate to another being for use of their power. I really hate that. it's just so clunky and impersonal... also personally weak. Some of my all time favorite M.C's are strong and they have their own power that THEY control. Vince and Globe from Superpowereds. Lindon and Aithan from Cradle. Let's say Henry and Jason from Blaises own series. Jason especially. So the whole summoning thing nearly made me quit then and there.
... but it's Corvin... He will always deserve my attention and as many chances as can be given. Like his series with Nora. Written well enough, but the narrator really goofed it up. I'll never return it and I'll even reread it when I need to. But when She was narrated properly in the newer books... that "HAZARD!!!!" gave me effin chills man. So he gets the benefit of the doubt. And so far it seems as if he is doing a good job. Already ordered the 2nd one.
