Great book but with at least one mistake.

First off, this is a great book. The following is a correction for one of the items I heard while listening to this. I apologize if this was already reported somewhere else, but I wanted to make no assumptions, either.

When discussing the VOR checks, you note that there is a requirement from the FAA to check VORs once every 30 days. That's incorrect. It needs to have been checked in the PRECEDING 30 days before using as a navigational aid for IFR flight:

§ 91.171 VOR equipment check for IFR operations.
(a) No person may operate a civil aircraft under IFR using the VOR system of radio navigation unless the VOR equipment of that aircraft -

(1) Is maintained, checked, and inspected under an approved procedure; or

(2) Has been operationally checked ------>within the preceding 30 days<-------, and was found to be within the limits of the permissible indicated bearing error set forth in paragraph (b) or (c) of this section.

While this may seem nit-picky, it's a question that will be asked on the written exam as well and the answer is not EVERY 30 days. You can go without checking it for 3 months and still be fine as long as you do check it within 30 days before a flight on an IFR flight plan. You do NOT need to check the VOR every 30 days. I'm not sure what page or chapter this is in as I'm actually listening to this book.

The information in this book is otherwise good. I do enjoy his additional comments to provide insights beyond the answers he provides.

Helps with rotorary wing instrument checkrides

This helped me with my rotorary instrument checkride however, you have to read in between the lines to see what information applies. I commute far to the airport I train at and I'll get alot of studying done listening to this book while on the road. I wish there was a helicopter version to this series.

Can't wait for the commercial pilot checkride one!

I have both audio books and since my PPL I have became a fan of Jason Scharppet!
Excellent way to retain the important information and nowadays, to me, is a fundamental tool to pass my orals.
So the question is: When is the" Pass your commercial pilot checkride " audio book coming up?

Excellence for muscle memory learning

The audio book is read by the author and pilot trainer/instructor legend Jason Schappert. It’s a great way to learn those oral exam questions and should be listened to multiple times.

My go-to for training!

Jason has a great way of simplifying the complex world of aviation. His Private Pilot Prep helped me pass my Private Checkride and I’m confident this Instrument course will do the same. I listen to it approximately 3 times a week.

I highly recommend this book!

I listened to this book everyday and it helped me to pass my Instrament check ride. This is a must for anyone working on their Instrament rating.
