Story
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First, he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce - and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So, we fight, to defend Earth and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding.

Story
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

Loving this series!
What made the experience of listening to Parallax the most enjoyable?
Great narrator, great characters, and lots of humor.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes! The story keept me hooked and it was hard to stop listening.
Any additional comments?
Loving this series. Characters are reoccurring and it continues to build from the previous book. I would definitely recommend reading/listening to these in order or it may not make as much sense. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Book 2 takes the story to a great place
Would you listen to Parallax again? Why?
Yes, once all the books are out, I want to listen to them in order.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Parallax?
Without giving away a spoiler, there is a great moment where the Eron character overcomes a huge issue visited on him by the Denards.
Which character – as performed by Ashley Holt – was your favorite?
The creepy alien who tortures people really stood out. The voice was appropriately creepy. Really creepy. Did I mention really creepy? The lead character was very soothing. Since she was a healer, it was very well done.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't really have an extreme reaction to the book, but I did enjoy it quite a bit! A good followup to the first one, which is still my favorite of the series.
Any additional comments?
Looking forward to books 3 and 4.

Gimme more!
Well, that was a load of feels and laughs and pants and . . . Pants? Ignore that.
LOL I really enjoyed this, probably a little more than the first book. Tamzea has been under leadership of Captain Jane for a long time. Eron was . . . I don't want to compare him to Ash, because the two couldn't be more different, but I am partial to Ash (first book). I like that I was able to pick right back up where I left off, without feeling like I needed to refresh my memory and skim the what I was listening to before getting distracted. Not meaning that in a bad way (I'm an older sister. I'm always needed for something).
Second time around, Ashley Holt grew on me. She's found her flow with the character(s) in this series and I was able to see why she narrated the previous book the way she did. Smooth, clear audio. The transitions were not choppy. Nobody likes choppy audio, LOL
4.5 of 5 Stars.

Fun Sci-Fi Romance Series
Parallax is Book 2 in the Starblind Series and can be enjoyed as a standalone. Tamzea is a healer. Led to believe that her mate Eron died years ago, she is shocked to find that he is alive but no longer the same man that she once knew. Will their love be strong enough to heal each other?
This is a fun series that revolves around the women aboard the Pittsburgh, a starship. Each story focuses on a different woman and her journey to love. There is also a side story involving the ruling race's attempts to wipe out races that it deems inferior and the effort to stop them. The narration was well done and drew me in to the story. I have enjoyed all three audiobooks in the series and would recommend it.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is my honest opinion.

I got the feels, but I still want more!
Parallax is #02 of 04 in the Starblind Series by D.T. Dyllin. All 4 are currently published with 2 of them being on Audible. #3 is in audio production now, with #4 to soon follow. The author has confirmed that #4 is the final book in the series.
Ashley Holt narrates the series thus far.
HEA with no cliffhanger!
This series is only 4 books long and is heavily connected by characters and overall story arc so I recommend reading the books in order. It is not only more enjoyable that way, but you will miss out on a lot of details if you read them out of order.

♥ Story ♥
Parallax picks up not long after the end of Starblind. The Pittsburgh is now up 3 passengers. We get a bigger glimpse of the classification system. There are also some new species introduced along the way.
This is Tamzea's story, and it gave me some deep feels! The story flashes back and forth in time as memories are relived. I will warn you now, they aren't happy or pretty!
Tamzea
Tamzea is a Mazatimz. A species human in appearance, except for their lavender eyes and hair. Most of them end up as some kind of doctor due to their healing abilities. Mazatimz children are often locked away and sheltered to protect them from the dangers of the world. This turns out to be their downfall.
The back story to Tamzea's life comes flooding back with a vengeance after a chance encounter with an out of control space pod. We find out about her escape and guilt over the loved one she thought dead, that she left behind.
Eron
Eron is the other half of Tamzy's pair-bond. He lied and sacrificed to protect another. Life, however, is never that black and white. Just as shady deals are rarely honored. His strife really pulls the heart strings, so try to cut the guy some slack. There is always more to the story, because the things you see and the thoughts you have, may not be your own. (that is supposed to be cryptic)
The Starblind series is a page turner and I can't wait to listen to the next in the series, Parallax (Tamzea's story). I can't really comment more without spoiling something. And trust me, I have a bunch of comments to make, but you will have to go over to the Read Along With Me for it, to be posted soon.

Book 2 in Sci-fi romance series
Parallax picks up after the events of Starblind, with the crew on their way back to normal after escaping the clutches of the sinister alien race out to torture and maim other species. Tamzea is content with her life as the healer on Philadelphia, but seeing Jane and Ash together makes her long for the past that was ripped from her. When an escape pod gets pulled to their ship, Tamzea finds young twins who say that they are the daughters of her lost love Eron, who she had thought was dead for the last ten years. Tamzea can't escape her past, instead it is coming for her...
This is book two in the Starblind series and I would highly recommend that they be read in order since it is a continuous plot, even though each book is about a different character from the crew. I have found this series to be the perfect escapist read for an afternoon, a fun, steamy, super fast read that can be breezed through. The audiobooks were roughly 7ish hours so you can pick one up and have it completed in no time.
There was so much more action that occurred on the pages of this book making me like this story better than the first book in the series, but there were still times that the action occurs off the pages and the reader just gets the basic wrap-up described. I am sure this is much easier for the author but as the reader, I feel like I could have missed something super exciting (such as the rescue of Ash, just to name one event). I personally would like to experience the action and emotions instead of getting a quick summary.
I think that since the world was already established in Starblind, the author was able to make the characters have more depth and allow the reader to get to know them better. Not only did I get to really meet and understand Tamzea, but also Jane (the main character from the first book) was more fleshed out (and a better person than I originally thought her to be) than she had been before. Oh, and the twists and betrayals that Parallax provided were nicely surprising, keeping me on my toes. Book 1 was entertaining but book 2 was even better, so that makes me think that book 3 will be the best yet- I have high expectations now.
I listened to the audiobook version narrated by Ashley Holt and I found her to be a bit slow for my liking at regular speed, but once I bumped the speed up to 1.5x, she was the perfect narrator. She gave all the characters personality and voices, as well as the sass I have come to know from the crew of the Philadelphia. I would love to listen the the rest of the series brought to life by Ashley.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance, complimentary copy of this book.

Fun and Interesting
Book 2 in the Starblind series. It's not necessary to read the first book, but I think it's better too. Same characters from the first book, but different POV. There are sexual situations. I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a good job. It's the same narrator as the first book, I do think the narrator was suited better for Jane's POV from the first book, but I enjoyed the overall listening experience.
This book is with the same starship crew, but this book is in Tamzea's POV. I love Tamzea's story! I actually loved this book more than the first book. Tamzea and her mate, Eron, were captured and tortured. Tamzea escapes, but she believes Eron is dead. It has been years and Tamzea has been working on a starship, she comes across some information that Eron may be alive, so she sets out to discover the truth. I love the Sci-Fi aspect. It's a fun space adventure! Interesting and entertaining story! I love the connection between Tamzea and Eron, and I like the direction the story goes. Loved seeing the other crew as well, and I really enjoy the humor. I do wish that sometimes the characters were more serious when the situation is serious. Overall, I'm loving this series, I'm excited to see more of these characters!

Great series!
This story belongs to Tamzae a healer on The Pittsburg. She is kind, has to help others so when the crew rescues healer twins it takes her down memory lane and straight to a man Eron. He is her lover and as a healer more. They are bound together.
The romance is sweet yet filled with controversy. The story flows easy and at times is quite suspenseful. This author has a delightful character building writing style. She put me into the characters roles. I found this one of a more serious tone then the first but its still comical in places. The world building is also amazing.
The narrators style matching well with the flow of the story. All books have the same narrator which I really enjoy in the cirumstance of this series.

Very imaginative Adventure!
Have heard the 1st and 3rd stories before I heard this one. Hearing them in order would be the preference, but each could be a stand alone since each one ended smoothly ( no cliff hanger!)
Not recommended for under 18 readers.

An interesting book 2
first thing do not listen to this book first, not only does it contain spoilers, this book is not as rich with out the past events and character interactions from the first one.
As with the frost book this is a space opera setting full of conflict, great character interactions and even at bit of action. Oh and don't forget the romance there is a lot of that.
The writing is good, well paced and will keep you listing from start to finish with no dull moments.
The narration is good, clear and easy to listen to I did not notice any errors in the recording The narration enhances the story with each characters personality being brought to life with unique voices.
All in all this is a fun action romance adventure that is more than worth listing to if this is your thing.
This book was given to me at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
