Publisher's Summary

There are certain truths evident in the new state of the world: Humans are less than nothing, supernatural beings reign supreme...and Elias Ivers always gets what he wants.

When he finds out his prized human slave has been snatched away from him by Khaz, a low-class whore, and made a vampire, he doesn't care what he has to destroy to claim Noah as his own. If that includes the budding feelings between Khaz and Noah, so be it. The fight for the fledgling is fierce and hot, but in this game of sex, pain, and intrigue, can anyone other than Elias truly be a winner?

Now that supernatural beings have seized control of the world, life has become a struggle for the humans who once held power. Witches, vampires, and werewolves determine the fate of every single human, but their moral compasses have long since been shattered.

Rebels, free humans, and slaves all share dreams of hope, mercy, love, and more. But with their fate so uncertain, survival isn't enough...and they may have to sacrifice what is nearest and dearest to them if they want to change their lives.

Bought, Ravel, and Recoil feature different characters whose lives begin to come together in Owned and Temper. This dystopian series explores different aspects of the world, from utter darkness to the shining lights waiting to emerge. Because of this, the books range from dark erotica to romance to horror to action(ish) to bits of other things in between.

Deliciously Dark, and Jack Noble is Perfect!

Dark and salacious, Owned is the fourth book in R. Phoenix’s Fate of the Fallen series. This series just gets more intense with every episode, and I love how the stories are intertwining. Ms. Phoenix is crafting the plot so beautifully I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I’ve been enjoying this one in audio because the narrator is fantastic. No one can bring these characters to life like Jack Noble, he creates such a shiver-worthy atmosphere it elevates everything to a whole nother level.

Bring on Temper, I’m ready!

Owned

Khaz and Noah’s story is so full of emotions. It continuously pulls on your heart. I did not know if I wanted it to go faster so I could see what would happen next or to go slower so I could savor their story. Khaz does the only thing he can think of to save Noah but when the truth comes out will Noah hate him? Can the two survive what the world throws at them or will it tear them apart?

I really enjoyed this story. Poor Khaz seems to always come up on the wrong side of things and this time it could cost him more than he is willing to bet. Going up against Elias is not the smart thing to do but Khaz will do anything to keep Noah safe. Noah goes through so much in this book mentally and physically. The two are good together and if they can work past the hurt, they will be a couple that others should not underestimate. I hated seeing Jace becoming an animal and do what he does under the enslavement of Elias. The world that they live in is a harsh one and each of these men do what they must to survive.

Narrator Jack Noble does a wonderful job in bringing these characters to life. He brings out the emotions and the pain that they feel, and I was quickly immersed in their story as I listened.

Noah and Khaz

This is well done, I liked how we were able to see how the world they live in was structured. Khaz has to help his new child Noah in how to be a vampire, but they both pay the price to Elias for Noah being taken away from him and being turned into a vampire. Also seeing how Jace was becoming sadistic like his Elias.

Loved it

I loved listening to the audio of Owned. I read all the books in the Fate of the Fallen series and this book was one of my favorites. Now after listening to the four books in the FotF series I decided that Owned is my favorite audiobook. The story is so powerful, so full of character development, dramatic scenes and perfect combination of 4 different POV. Narrator did a good job bringing this story to life, I increased speed a little bit and enjoyed the listen. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. Highly recommend to all fans of the FotF world.

Amazing!

This is such an amazingly beautiful story! This is definitely not a happy story. This had so much emotions that Jake Noble just brings to life. I didn't think I could feel so much more in this story but damn was I proved wrong. R. Phoenix does an amazing story and Jack Noble narrated it beautifully!

Beautiful

I loved the book so much. I’ve read the series so I wanted to listen to the audios as well. This was fantastic. It has been, so far, my favorite audiobook in the series. It had a lot to do with the absolutely beautiful voice the narrator give to Khaz. But it wasn’t only the voice. It was also the pain, the despair, and all the emotions so amazingly well portray, that made me enjoyed it as I couldn’t imagine I would. There wasn’t mystery to me because I already know the story, but listening to it was a whole new experience. It make me remember why I loved it so much.

I did have an issue about it, the pace. I felt too slow to a point I needed to fast the narration speed. It was that easy to correct, so it didn’t change my overall emotion about it. To anyone who hasn’t read or listening to the series, it won’t work as a stand-alone. It is important to read it in the correct order.

Emotional journey

This one broke me down with the harsh cruelty of these beings. I didn't think I could hate Elias more, but I was wrong. I was beyond sickened and furious with him. I could not believe how cruel Jace has become. He's a fast learner from his evil master Elias. it's hard to say which one is more hurtful now. If there is any fairness, I'd love to see Elias suffer a painful death. The narrator enhanced my experience ans made the characters come alive.

Just amazing, full of emotions and angst!

I immediately loved the characters of Khaz and Noah, and seeing them suffer so much in this book has broken my heart over and over again multiple times, but not for this I enjoyed less the story. I was able to feel the pain Noah and Khaz experienced during the events they lived. The physical and mental abuse that Noah suffered, and the extreme pain Khaz felt knowing he couldn't do nothing to save his beloved "child" and knowing that to have Noah beside him, he will have to fight hard.
The narration was perfect, Jack Noble did an amazing job with the characters and the emotions, it was truly a joy to listen to it. Now I can't wait to know what will come next ^^
