Publisher's Summary

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him "Baby Moses" when they shared his story on the ten o'clock news.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news, and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn't stay away.

One of the BEST

You know, I was so excited to find this was being released in audio form. I had read it when it first came out and thought it to be such brilliant writing. The depth and substance of the characters, the creative and superb storyline, and the powerful way that Ms Harmon has of weaving love, tragedy, humor, broken-ness and redemption throughout. That being said, it just HAD to be heard as well. And, boy howdy, I was not disappointed. The two narrators (JD Jackson/Moses and Tavia Gilbert/Geoergia) were excellent in their interpretation of the writing adding further to the veracity of the story. I love to listen to a book I've read and this one has got to be among my all time favorites. I heard things I did not read or see; I felt things on a much more primal level; and the connection to both Moses and Georgia (and always Eli) was one forged on an emotional anvil. So, why go any further with the review? It's by far and away a lovely opportunity to visit this book for the first time or to connect at the different and deeper levels after reading it. Don't miss it, please.

🌟🌟 5 Stars 🌟🌟

That was absolutely not what I was expecting...In a very good way! Wow, what a ride! I really enjoyed this book once it got going. It started a little slow and the prologue bummed me out cause I hate knowing the end in the beginning but once I reached the end I understood, without giving anything away I want to say prologue/ending....very sneaky indeed! The characters are a little strange in the beginning, especially Moses. He is awkward and anti-social and she is a little bit of a pest but you'll grow to love them both! This story was heartbreaking in many ways! The narrators for the Audiobook were fantastic! Highly recommended especially if your looking for something VERY different!

Hauntingly beautiful!

I could not stop listening to this book! It's sad yet hopeful, and totally addictive. The movie/book rating I would give it is PG-13 for strong language (without the F word) and implied sex. I would definitely recommend this book!!!

Exceptional story!

Ms. Harmon creates masterpieces when she writes.
The narrators did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. They are so well defined that for me they seemed flawless and very real. The goodness of these characters just make you fall in love with each one of them and hate their enemies. I laughed and cried. Oh boy..did I cry. I felt everything. I was addicted to listening. I'm overjoyed with this book. Only bad thing for me was that the story ended. I will read and listen again and again. This story was good for my heart and soul!

Love!

This is already my favorite book, but these narrators brought it to life in s way I couldn't have imagined. I used the audio version as a reread, prior to starting The Song of David. I'm just as excited to read Tag's story, and am thrilled that it will have the same narrators!

I really wanted to love this book ......

This is a novel. It is well written, well thought out, and very different. That being said I can appreciate the talent that went into writing of this story .... I did not like the vehicle that led to the HEA. I think it was because of the tragedy in the book which I will not give away its a spoiler. I know I am in the minority in not loving this book, but it just was not for me.

A Somewhat Reluctant 4-star review

The Law of Moses held my attention completely, and I felt sympathy and love for both Moses and Georgia. However, I, who am normally an easy cryer, did not cry as so many other reviewers did. Instead I felt slightly frustrated and just a little bit annoyed by the rather ambiguous ending. But I can't pretend I wasn't forewarned: early in the book Moses and Georgia are discussing their favorite authors. Georgia names Dean Koontz, among others, and Moses says no, that Dean Koontz knows too much. Anybody who has read Dean Koontz should see that tiny episode as a red flag - but one starts a Dean Koontz novel sort of knowing what to expect. This book is labeled a romance. There is love in this story, but it is a love that waxes and wanes and is tested to the breaking point, and there is an enormous amount of pain. There is also a preponderance of . . . . concepts concerning life, death, and the shadowlands that perhaps lay in between that one doesn't usually seek or find in a "romance." The writing was beautiful, the imagery was astounding, and the story was captivating. For all of that, I give it four stars. I'm not sure, however, that I will seek out any more "romances" by this author.

An epic story, beautifully narrated. I suffered through every twist, turn and squeeze, but came out appreciative of my own ‘greats’ at the end. Lovely.

Outstanding

This is a very beautiful and touching story from Amy Harmon, superbly narrated by Tavia Gilbert and J D Jackson. A story of love and loss, of challenge and friendship. I was hooked from the start. I lived it and really didn't want it to end. I would definitely recommend this book

Deeply moving

It took me a long time to work out the attacker. A beautiful and evokative story, brilliantly written and well researched - I'm a horsewoman with an interest in psychology and my mother is a medium (I couldn't find fault with the plot), although based in Enland it doesn't qualify me for the rest.
Well read by the narrators if I could give this to 10 stars I would.

This could be a great story, it just didn’t grab me at all so have returned only a chapter in.
