Okay Plot

I didn’t like the heroine. While her backstory was sympathetic, her characterization was not okay with me personally. Her grumpiness was fun, but it was how she dealt with her past and how she treated the hero that not it for me. The hero was fine and I found that I didn’t care the whole storyline after a while. The writing itself was good. The pacing was good.

This doesn’t seem like it’s the 1st book in the series.

This story has a lot of supporting characters (family members, significant others, kids) that the author seems to think you already know their relationships to each other. However, it’s never really explained in this book & it gets confusing trying to remember who is who. It’s like having a conversation with someone who keeps name dropping people you’ve never met! After I listened to half of the book, I thought I must have accidentally started a book that’s the 2nd or 3rd book in this series, but this is the 1st.

The narration is great. The storyline is good overall, but typical.
