Narrator is breathy, inconsistent, poor male narration

I bought the hard copy first and loved the story. Because of this, I bought the audible because of Aiden Snow, and the female narrator caused me to dnf the audible. Her voice for Vod sounds like a woman trying to be Batman. Would return if I could. Great story though!

Really loved the story and the characters. The female narrator did a great job, but I wish we got to hear Aiden Snow and the male POV more.

Good story awful narration

I liked this book, but the narration is so cringy. The female narrator is great for the female lead, but when she starts narrating the male lead…it’s so bad. She sounds like a 75 year old smoker. I almost didn’t finish the story because of it. I’m glad I did because the story was good. At times the smut was a bit much, but I guess that’s personal taste.

Just ok

Recommended on booktok as a good comparison to Hunting Adeline. Not even close. Aiden Snow is barely on here. Female voice doing the male parts gets cringy.

this had all the elements I love - gothic setting, dark romance, suspense, psychological overtones. incredible

Highly recommend for romance with a twist

I wish this book had been longer. It was sad to have it end because I haven't enjoyed something this much in a while. I find it hard to compete with the romance in ACOTAR, but this was a wonderful dark romance that leaves you with all the feels. It is suspenseful and has a well written mystery while still being steamy in parts.

it was ok, could have guessed the entirety of it

I loved the swoonworthy hero, and the Spice is pretty great, but I really did guess the entire plot before even the halfway point. the random mental health issues being thrown in there after the MFC is supposed to be a witch kind of threw me though. overall good book. intriguing and cute characters :) oh and the narrators were great!

Loved it

Interesting and unique story. I appreciated the focus and respect on the topic of mental illness. I liked the mystery and the characters and although I didn’t feel the story and revelations were fully flushed out in the end, and so many things went unanswered, it was still a good listen.

gothic romance

this was an interesting story to read but the spicy scene dialogue was like awkward and not really realistic to me sometimes and threw me off.

interesting Mystery with Loose Ends

Solid 4 stars. Overall performance was great. I loved listening to it and really liked the story. Corvina was a great FMC that I enjoyed following. I thought the line between her mental illness and being supernatural was always in question, even until the end, was well done. The story did leave some loose ends, but given that her life was truly beginning, I guess it makes sense to leave the story open-ended. The romance was sweet, and the sex was definitely steamy! I absolutely loved Corvina's epilogue but won't give any spoilers. Overall enjoyed this read.
