A deadly curse. A brutal enemy. A seductive threat.

Ever since her mother fell victim to the Lonely Death, Azalea has tried to find a cure in the fabled petals of the moonflowers growing in her garden. Her attempts at conquering death are derailed when a secret is unearthed—one that forces her into captivity at the hands of the large, arrogant, and frustratingly handsome Fae Commander of the wicked Black King.

Determined to protect the friends she calls family, she is forced to embark on a journey of danger and betrayal that will threaten everything she has ever thought to be true. Despite the monsters hiding in every shadow, Azalea realizes that the biggest threat of all may be the Commander and the way her body hums with his every touch.

Let the magic of the wildflowers cast you into a world ruled by greed, lies, and darkness as Azalea confronts the undeniable truth that the man who has imprisoned her might not be her enemy after all…

A Wildflower in the Wind is the first book in the Magic of the Wildflowers Trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger. Intended for mature listeners.

I loved the twists and turns in the story. The characters were great and had good substance.

Great twists and turns.

I want to give a five stars, but it’s just lacking. A lot of unfinished stories a lot of things that could have been explained sooner. I hate a slow gullible main character. There’s no way she’s just blind to everything.

Not too bad

I enjoyed this book. I came across this by accident and so glad I did.

Good Story

all, throughout the first few chapters I wanted to strangle the lead character for being so unaware of what her actions were causing. and then I wanted to strangle the hero, because he wouldn't trust her with the truth. but the deep Bond the two shared constantly. stirred and eventually grew to fruition. great narration and a good well-paced story. I recommend it. it could have used a bit more editing. but other than that it's a keeper

faced with a love of two men. she chose the one who wouldn't control her.

This story is full of twists and turns that left me wanting more. The romance is a great slow-burn but also flows well enough that it doesn't get boring or stale. Containing adventure, enemies to lovers romance, castle drama, and more surprises than you can keep track of! loved it!

Just Listen, It's Worth It!

It was enjoyable story, a little predictable if you are an avid fantasy reader but don’t let it stop you from reading it. The storyline was definitely different than any other story I have read.

Enjoyable story

FMC is so naive and annoying. She’s supposed to be a grown woman but acts like a spoiled selfish child. Theirs no way she should have survived this long.

Annoying

This entire story revolves around Lea (Azalea) and her incredibly stupid decisions. The FMC behaves like an immature 12 year old, throwing epic tantrums (which of course are what makes the narrative churn forward), wailing and whining, and being utterly dense.

Imagine a 5 year old child being told over and over not to touch a pan because its hot, but the child, over and over grabbing onto that hot pan, getting third degree burns, then screaming over how unfair it is, only to reach right back out to grab the same hot pan. That's Lea. An insufferable brat with a superiority complex. I suspect that the author was going for 'strong-willed, stubborn, independent and sassy.' Unfortunately Lea comes off ...differently. And its not endearing and charming. It left me wondering why the whole book isn't about Evander trying to sever their bond.

Instead, Evander (who otherwise might be an interesting character) is reduced to a babysitter of our little burn victim, who has to treat her like a child constantly and yet is also supposed to be madly in love with her. Why? Well because she exists. That's why. No need for maturity, intelligence, whit, charm or even a modicum of self-preservation to fall in love. Nope. Lea is hot and fated to be his, therefore Evander, who is also supposed to be 100s of year old and super duper powerful, is a grovelling sycophant to this mental and emotional infant.

Its all so ridiculous. Mind you, the premise of an age-old fae king stealing all the magic in the world to keep himself powerful has potential. Two sons battling for power, and a rebellion brewing in the backdrop, all can be worked with. But then you throw in Azalea's snot-nosed nonsense, and you feel like you are listening in on a bunch of preteen girls talking about their social lives on a school bus to 6th grade for most of the story. Certainly not romantic.

I did finish this book, but will not be going on with the series. It could have been an ok read, except for the fact that every cause and effect in the narrative happens because Lea is TSTL. Painfully obnoxious FMC.

But if you like the middle school dramatics, overpowered heroines who do nothing to deserve their fortune, and two-dimensional hulky males, then who knows? maybe you will like this.

Stupidity driven plot

Love the story, the action and the romance all in one story. Can’t wait to start the next book!!

Loved it!!

I usually try to hold a certain amount of grace for the characters in stories, like they don't know what I'm reading and inferring but, I have never felt so frustrated about a character completely disregarding all the cues around her as well as what literally everyone is saying to her. I can't keep reading because of the FMC blatant ignorance. The direction the story was heading was interesting but the love triangle and the hot and cold attitudes were really orienting. After checking reviews I was glad to see I wasn't the only one but also knew I had to jump ship. DNF chapter 25.

Husband was relieved when I told him I wasn't gonna keep listening to it. Was concerned about me yelling at book characters .
