An action-packed new LitRPG apocalypse perfect for fans of The Primal Hunter, Hell Difficulty Tutorial, and 1% Lifesteal.

The System warned them. The world panicked. Alex prepared.

In college for a degree he didn’t care about, the promise of the System creating a world where magic and challenge awaited—even at the risk of death—was the best news Alex possibly could have imagined.

Yeah, Alex was ready for a new life. He wasn’t, however, ready for his only friend to shove him through a portal into hell the moment the apocalypse started.

Instead of getting to hunt rabbits and farm wolves to start out, Alex finds himself stranded in a warped world where everything, including the bugs, is stronger than he is. Even with a Summoner Class that gains the powers of its monsters, most people would have died.

Alex didn’t get the memo. He loves the challenge. Where others might have seen certain death, he finds something else:

Opportunity.

Don't miss the start of this action-packed LitRPG Apocalypse series by Actus, bestselling author of Return of the Runebound Professor and Rise of the Living Forge. It's perfect for fans of The Primal Hunter, Hell Difficulty Tutorial, and 1% Lifesteal.

Actus has a great track record of making his first book interesting, either with world-building or a unique power system that shapes how the world is put together. Alex is a summoner, but when challenges give the best rewards sometimes putting yourself at risk is necessary for the rewards. It's not bogged down with stat spreads and it's a simple at face value power progression, kill to get more power and you need stronger foes climb the path of power

Actus does it again

story is alright. the mc is a little weird but he's not whiney which I appreciate. the cliffhanger at the end is bull**** lol.

decent

Much like the other series by this author it's well put together with driven character. Has a large focus on plot and growth.

Not much romance or inter monologue whining . The MC is pretty confident and doesnt doubt himself alot. Nor worry if he is doing the right things.

My only complaint would be how little he looks. He is constantly borrowing a sword yet leaves looted ones laying all over. Then later when he kills people who should have storage rings, he never checks. Infact on of his first non monster kills has a large backpack of stuff that he just leaves without even checking its contents. He has a serious not looting problem.

Another banger by Actus

Actus is golden! Every book he writes I swear, is the best book evarrr! And Nightmare Realm Summoner is no exception I loved it every mesmerizing minute!!! I've found books about Summoners are generally very much like deck-building litRPG's and I simply adore the deck-building aspect! Of the few Summoner books I've read this is the most like one of them. Alex the MC even carries a box on his hip that holds his mirror cards. And yah know, I love that! Right off the bat Alex finds himself trapped in the Mirrorlands with a quest to escape or die. In the Mirrorlands everything is warped and twisted where everything is trying to kill you even the trees. While doing just what the quest demanded, he stumbles across Claire a Dhampir Warrior a woman from another world and together they've made an uneasy alliance in order to make their escape! Afterwards it's all about fighting and leveling. And man! Glint, Alex's first summoned monster is a doozy!!! You really gotta meet 'em! Glint is a good boy. And the other two are som'min else too!
So yeah grab the audiobook because Robb Morrow is AwesomeSauce!

Here's some quotes for yah:

"Alex took a bite of frozen pizza. It tasted like wet cardboard that someone had slapped with a sausage."

"The woman’s voice was bubbly and energetic. There was a nonzero chance she’d pounded back a few dozen espresso shots before showing up to her shift."

"You were staring off into the sky like you watched someone punt your gopher into the atmosphere.”

Grab the book 'cause it's AwesomeSauce!

I'll definitely listen to the next books in this series, and i'll tell you why. I never felt the need to skip ahead to get away from stat-sheets. In fact, i think we saw his stats like 3 times throughout the whole book, but we still knew what he's got going on. The System isn't the same as all the others, and i like how it doesn't quantify things like; strength, intelligence, etc. The story is obviously only just begun for the mc, but it never felt stale, and it held my attention the entire duration of the book for one reason or another at any given time. I was made to feel eager to see our mc's growth, to see the development of his relationships, and to learn more about the world(s). The ending wasn't rude, and i think part of that is because i'm already craving conclusions for multiple other facets of the story, and the book is plenty long as it is. Though, i could listen to another 100+ hours of this if the next titles continue like this 1st book.

if fight after fight is your thing without background or world building is your thing you are gonna love this, personally not my thing

endless fighting

26 hr. Of EPIC BATTLES AND LEVELING UP MONOLOGUES DO NOT CONSTITUTE A STORY WORTHY OF BEING PUBLISHED.
The storyline is as thin as it gets.
That Aethon Audio even publishes this, says a lot about their quality control.

Waste of money
