Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Unexpected
From the description I thought the was gonna be a comedy it is not. I heard leveling system thought it was a lit RPG it was not. Read about dungeons thought it was a dungeon management book it was not.
So what is this book ? I’d say it’s a love letter to Norse mythology
And a power trip fantasy

Almost too much for one book
Good book, a nice listen if you like the darker MC’s. The beginning to middle portion was my favorite then scope of things change a bit. Still good though

Pretty good.
Worth the listen, not a big fan of some of the narrators choices for his female voices though. Couple of audio repeats slipped in where the different takes were spliced but it didn't really bother me.

Got to chapter 5 and couldn’t go any further. I was really bored with the entire book. This is more of an OP mc comedy book and just not for me.

probably would have been a good book I really enjoyed some of the authors other work but the narrator is just awful especially for female characters its like somebody stabbing you in the ears with a kazoo could not finish

Could Have Been Better
I almost never write reviews. I have returned a few books, but not that many. I returned this one... and I only had 1 1/2 hours left in the book, but I just couldn't/didn't want to finish it. That alone should let you know my feelings on this book.
I wanted to like this book, but the story is just meh, and the voice acting really isn't that great. I was lost several times trying to figure out who was who, and because of that completely missed what was said. I don't know how many times I feel asleep or just zoned out and had to rewind it.
Its not going to be the book you think it is. I read the summary and thought "oh this sounds interesting and funny". It wasn't. There are some one liners I laughed at. But the whole story feels kind of... dry. I tried slogging my way through it but just... couldn't. Maybe if it had a better narrator I would have enjoyed it more? I don't know.
