As the youngest in her family, Dory really wants attention; and more than anything, she wants her brother and sister to play with her. But she's too much of a baby for them, so she's left to her own devices - including her wild imagination and untiring energy. Her siblings may roll their eyes at her childish games, but Dory has lots of things to do: outsmarting the monsters all over the house, escaping from prison (aka time-out), and exacting revenge on her sister's favorite doll.

The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Weird pronunciation!
My six year old is very distracted by the incorrect pronunciation of Rosamond, which changed from the pronunciation used in Volumes I and II.
Additionally, some stories end with a recitation of craft instructions or recipes. This interrupts the flow for my kids who like to listen to story after story. Overall, other Nate the Great compilations outperform this one.

Good stories, but a lot of filler as well
This third collection of Nate the Great books is a little too faithful to the original volumes. The stories themselves are fine (although I think that they are losing steam at this point in the series my daughter still loves them). However, the original books came with extended add ons at the end of the stories to pad out the books such as recipes and craft ideas related to the stories. While these are OK in published format, listening to someone read out a list of true and false questions or a list of facts about stamps isn't very compelling. You'll need to keep yourself in distance of the controls to skip through all the filler on this title.
