Publisher's Summary

Follow the adventures of Zoey and her cat, Sassafras, with this collection of books one to six in the series.

With magical animals, science, mystery, and adventure - the Zoey and Sassafras series has something for everyone!

Each story features a new magical animal with a problem that must be solved using science. There isn’t a set formula for each book; Zoey sometimes needs to run experiments, while other times she needs to investigate a mystery, and yet other times she needs to do research. Zoey models how to keep a science journal through her handwritten entries in each story. Each story is complete with a glossary of the kid-friendly definitions for scientific terms used. The series highlights child-led inquiry science, and the topics covered align with both Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

Perfect for longer car rides with kids!

Great value! 6 one hour books- so easy to break up for longer car rides. Enjoyed the narration. My little boy is 4 and we both enjoyed listening to them. Def a lot of bang for your buck here! Would highly recommend.

The Triple Threat! Magical, Educational, & Fun!

My child (8) and I LOVEE this series! We (and the world) need more books like Zoey and Sassafras!

Magical, educational, and fun!

Working in mythical creatures, and science while reminding the listener it’s okay to:

Make mistakes
Not know it all
Ask for help
Learn as you go
Want to do things independently
And more!

I absolutely recommend this book series.

Excellent book for adventurous children

As someone who has purchased thousands of books for school libraries in East Africa, I can say without a doubt that Zoey and Sasafrass is one of the best series for young readers I have come across thus far. It has creative story lines that encourage creative thinking, perseverance and science while still having magical creatures that stimulate the imagination. Unlike so many other children's books, I appreciate that the main character in the story, while having some independence, let's her mother know what is going on (rather than doing everything in secret) and uses logic to come up with solutions. The story lines captivated my 5 and 6 year old little girls and is already a favourite. Don't hesitate- purchase this series right away!
