This timeless classic now features a foreword written by New York Times bestselling author Judy Blume, as well as an exclusive interview with Beverly Cleary herself!
In the first novel from Newbery Medal–winning author Beverly Cleary, boys and girls alike will be charmed instantly by an average boy whose life is turned upside down when he meets a lovable puppy with a nose for mischief.
Just as Henry Huggins is complaining that nothing exciting ever happens, a friendly dog sits down beside him and looks pleadingly at his ice-cream cone. From that moment on, the two are inseparable. But when Ribsy's original owner appears, trying to reclaim his dog, Henry's faced with the possibility of losing his new best friend. Has Klickitat Street seen the last of rambunctious Ribsy?

Having only read the first Henry Huggins book, I wasn’t sure if I’d like the others in the series but I enjoyed them thoroughly.
Neil Patrick Harris’s performance/read through was fantastic and he gave voice and characterization to each of Cleary’s lovable cast of characters. He actually sounds like what I imagined “Henry Huggins” would sound like and he even does “Ramona Quimby” justice. I was busting out laughing whenever Harris would do her voice because it — in a way — fit the character.
The other story teller, William Roberts, does a fine job too but he’s only acting on one book — the second one if you listen to them in order.
I also enjoyed the musical bridges/vignettes/interludes that happened sporadically throughout, usually between chapters or books, that gave a nice touch.
I guess the only draw back to the audio versions of this set is you don’t get to see the wonderful illustrations by Tracy Dockray that are present in the books.
Neil Patrick Harris Performance = Great!
