When Muslim fundamentalists blow up a key Soviet oil complex, making an already critical oil shortage calamitous, the Russians figure they are going to have to take things into their own hands. Story
A terrorist bomb explodes during a South Korean celebration of the anniversary of the election of its first president. Alarms are raised in Washington. No one is claiming responsibility. The first suspect is North Korea. Could it be making a power play against South Korea and unification? If so, how will the U.S. respond? Paul Hood, Director of the Op-Center, must answer these questions. Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

This is the book that dares to show us the military hardware, global upheavals, and raw combat a second Korean War would unleash. How F-16s would blast across the 38th Parallel. How ultra-modern submarines would vie for the seas. And how two armies would turn the snowfields of Asia red with blood. A thundering geopolitical thriller of vast scope, this is Red Phoenix - and a new standard for military/political suspense fiction.

My favorite Clancy
Great book. I have read it a couple times and have a signed copy. The mark on performance comes due to the beginning or the read. The narrator’s reading was odd, especially with slang. It got better towards the end.

Best of Best
Tom Clancy's books are generally pretty good, sometimes really good, and occasionally extraordinary. I think this is the best story and performance ever from Tom Clancy.

Have you listened to any of Michael Prichard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not sure. Michael is an excellent reader and he can keep track of the various accents.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not possible. Far too long.

What a fantastic book!
I loved this book. I am not one to go for books this long and this was the first Clancy book I've ever read. What a fantastic book, though! Aside from the ten zillion characters, this book had me so drawn in and engulfed by the plot, I hated to put it down. If you like a book with substance, science, intrigue, suspense, and a phenomenal story line, this is a great place to start. I can't wait to read another one of his books!

well read, but story wrap up lacking
the story was long, so I thought there would be a great wrap up for all of the main characters.

Great Listen!
Very suspenseful. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Crime doesn’t pay when you mess with John Kelly.
