Publisher's Summary

Remember that time you dated that complete nutcase and said to yourself, "I wish Future Me would have come back and warned me about this"? Remember when you and your drunk friends said, "If it's such a bad idea, someone would come back from the future and stop us", right before it blew up in your face and got you in trouble? It would be great to have someone from the future to guide your life, wouldn't it?

Landon Bridges' life hasn't always been perfect, but now he's in college and determined to make a fresh start and transform himself from high school geek to college chic...well, less geeky guy. He's finally attained his life-long goal of studying physics in college under a renowned professor. He's met the girl of his dreams and made friends with some of the cool frat guys. Things are going great, until he shows up.

A mysterious stranger intervenes to help Landon out of a terrible, possibly life changing situation, but what does he want? Why does he keep showing up? Who is he? Landon's esteemed professor suddenly seems like a flake. Landon's briefly idyllic college world seems to be spinning out of control. Landon needs to control his world and, in the process of regaining his sanity and his grip on reality, he discovers that he has talents and allies that he never imagined. But is what they're telling him the truth?

The truth is just the lie we've chosen to believe, and yours may be different than mine.

I want More

I am so glad I got the chance to listen to this one. A cheeky mix of a coming of age story for a young man, a guide to time travel and college parties. A very cool listen. If you are like me and loved Karate Kid then this story will make you laugh and definitely keep your attention for a few hours. The characters are very likable and you learn to like them more and more as the story goes on. There are so many pop culture and science fiction references/ shout outs sprinkled throughout this book that it gives it a kind of authenticity. With all the different timelines intermingled it lends a sort of confusion that is not confusing at all but gives this time travel tale a little something different. The main character’s sarcasm is so cheeky and fun that you cannot help but laugh at him, in a geeky way. If you are anything like me then you will love listening to the main character geek out in the college dorms and navigate his way through his freshman year. The narrator does a phenomenal job with this entire story, but especially the sarcasm. Each character has their own unique sound it gives them personality. There were scenes that you could really hear the urgency and tension in the narrator’s voice. What a great listen and I cannot wait for this series to be continued. I was provided a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for a honest review via Audiobook Boom. This is no way affected my opinion of this work.

Although it started slow for me, I ended up loving this book! It's a fascinating new take on the genre; it will definitely make you think. Not only is the time-travel aspect interesting but, the action and mystery in the book keep you guessing, too. Overall, awesome story and great narration! Time Travel

The story starts with Landon Bridges freshly out of high school and entered into college and determined to be a little less geeky and cooler then he was in high school. Being a physics nut he wants to study under a renowned eccentric physics professor who has been theorizing about the possibility of time travel, and arranges to have an interview with the professor. The interview goes much better than he had hoped for and soon Landon is caught up in college life shenanigans, a girl friend and yes, time travel. The author does a good job of developing the characters and using pop culture references and a puts new twist on time travel. He keeps you interested and excited to the surprising ending and waiting for the sequel. Jeffrey Kaffer does an excellent job of narration.

New take on a stale genre

Finally someone has come and changed the time traveling genre - love seeing new takes on otherwise stale ideas - this one will make you think and ponder the possibilities, great audio book with another stellar performance by Jeffery Kafer.

A fun time travel listen with pop culture laughs

I had no idea what to expect prior to listening to Time to Lie, Book 1 of the Landon Bridges series, but I'm really glad that I was able to listen and review this title. It's a fun, different twist on your typical time travel story with tons of pop culture references and lol moments.

Jeffrey Kafer did a great job with the narration and Phil Taylor wrote a fun, solid story about Landon Bridges and how he began his time travelling journey, well, back in college. I won't go into specifics because I don't want to ruin anything, but this story pretty much takes place all while Landon is in college. It's a fast moving listen and honestly didn't even seem like it was 5.5 hours long because I was having so much fun listening. I see that Book 2 isn't out on Audible yet, but I'll be sure to make it a point to listen once it becomes available because I'm honestly wanting to learn what happens next with these characters and hopefully learn exactly how they end up...well, where they end up. I will make sense after you listen!

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

New Twist on Time Travel & LOVED IT!

I really enjoyed TIME TO LIE. Landon was a hoot! His internal monologue was a riot! I also loved how the fourth wall was broken a few times.

We are in the same boat as Landon is when it comes to learning about his talents. This helps with the "showing" vs. "telling" of the story. We go along for the ride as Landon does and its an interesting ride! This was a unique take on the "time traveling" concept, which I throughly enjoyed.

Take the time travel element away and you still have good, solid story of college student finding his path in life and how those he surrounds himself with impact his life and choices! However, the time travel element adds volumes to the interactions and relationships once the twists and turns are revealed!!

This is a perfect example of when a good story is paired with an awesome narrator! Jeffrey's brilliant performance elevated the story and added a layer of realism to the characters! He provides distinct voices to every character and it was easy to follow them around.

Overall, this story had action, mystery, suspense, romance and it all made for a great story. I wanted more when the end was reached! I can't wait for the second book!!

One of the better Time Travel stories.

I received this audiobook for free from the author / narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

I mostly read sci-fi and thriller books. Among sci-fi, it's been quite a while since I had last read a good time travel story. Most books dealing with time travel make one or the other theoretical mistake that renders the entire story undone. Not this book. This book approaches the time travel topic with a nuance that survives a critical examination from a theoretical standpoint. I can almost vouch that there are no bloopers (that we know of) to be found in this story, as far as time travel goes.

That aside, the characters are endearing and interesting. The story pulls you in and engages you from the get go. I was invested in the progress of the story and was intrigued to know what happens next, throughout the book.

The narration was awesome too. The narrator gave a distinct voice to every character and it was easy to follow them around.

A great new take on time travel stories

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I enjoyed this far more than I thought I would. My last several time travel themed stories have been bland or poorly executed. The narrator was good and the story was really well put together in my opinion. I liked the snarky style of the author. I'd definitely be open to more from this duo.
