    "Not believable"

there were way too many passages where the characters actions were not believable. I considered stopping on many occasions but I hate to stop any book in the middle

    "I struggled with this story"

What can I say? Where should I start? This was a weird story with several twists that got even weirder and at the end, it just left me with an ugly feeling. I got this on sale and I'm glad I did or I would've requested a refund. The narrator was great but that was the only good thing about this audiobook I enjoyed

"Mystery / Whodunnit / Trouble in Mexico"

A disgraced reporter needs a new story to pick up the pieces of his shattered career. Plagiarism, fraud and addiction to prescription meds can be hard for a newspaper man to recover from.

He happens upon word of a missing American in Mexico, and smells a story, and a cover-up. That is where his trouble begins, and he witnesses movements of dangerous men.

Several stories intertwine, and finally resolve in a mostly satisfying conclusion (if not slightly predictable). There are moments of brilliant writing throughout, most notably the moment where a main character is hit on the head and suffers a concussion. remember the writing here! if you choose to read this novel.

If this description sounds like your cup-of-tea, you will likely enjoy this well-written novel.

Narration by Scott Brick is solid.

    "Confusing title...decent book."

I am not sure why Browne decided to title this one, "The Innocent Ones". Doesn't really make a lot of sense after reading it. However, this book was pretty good. A nice "whodunit" plot, with some interesting twists and turns. Honestly, the story got a little strange at the end. Kind of confusing, and a little off-kilter, but it was still a good book. Scott Brick is a narrator that really has to grow on a listener. Took me a few books of his to get on board, but now he is one of my favorites.

    "Who is innocent?"

Unique storyline of different culture, superstitutions and beliefs made real by evils of those needing to follow yet another cult, dispite cruelty and inhumanity. Fictional yet well told with Scott Brick at his best. drawn to follow mystery as they are injured and abused. Not great literature but great entertainment.

    "Much too long"

This was sooo long and quite boring. Scott brick just dragged it along in that monotone voice and after listing to so many narrated Bt him it's predictable how he will pronounce the sentence. One thing I found Is every book I've heard by him all sounds the same so I think of some other character in a different story if u know what I'm trying to say. I have had enough of his voice for awhile so I won't download a book narrated by him.
To the story I don't know how I feel about it. It wasn't gruesome like some of the reviews said and rape and all that so I'm source where that came from. I didn't care for the story or felt it was a thriller. It reminded me of the old sundance channel Mexico movie. Not for me

    "Great thriller!!"

This book is definitely a thriller!! It is not for the faint of heart. It has a very unusual beginning. I was really wondering how it would all tie in but Mr. Browne delivered in spades.
Scott Brick (? Spelling of name) is my favorite male narrator for this kind of book. I would highly recommend this one.
