Publisher's Summary

In the newest addition to the bestselling series, Stone Barrington and Holly Barker pursue a master spy and murderer in a tropical paradise where very little is as it seems.

Teddy Fay, a rogue agent last seen escaping an imploding building in Iron Orchid, has been considered dead for some time now. But President Will Lee thinks Teddy may still be alive. In a top-secret Oval Office meeting, Stone learns that he and his cohorts, Holly Barker and Dino Baldachetti, are being sent to the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Marks, courtesy of the CIA, to track down Teddy once and for all.

St. Marks is a vacationer's paradise, but its luxurious beach clubs and secluded mountain villas are home to corrupt local politicians and more than a few American ex-pats with murky personal histories. Stone and Holly soon discover that in St. Marks, everyone is hiding something, and Teddy Fay may just be hiding in plain sight.

Good, but hard to listen to

I would almost prefer to give this 1 star, and wish I could have given it 4 because it IS a good story. However, Tony Roberts' narration is so bad if makes it difficult to listen to. His accents are terrible - all of them. And even his general voice was affected. It made me cringe. Then his pronunciation of "Spokane" sounding like rain! GRRR! Kept thinking "now if George Guidall or Grover Gardner were reading this, it would be fantastic!" If you can tolerate really bad narration, go ahead and get this book, otherwise never mind.

What you would expect...

...from Stuart Woods. Somewhat superficial, slightly unbelievable and highly entertaining. I don't think I would ever rate one of his works a "5", but I do enjoy the listen. But don't look for anything too deep.

Holly and Stone, together again

I really like the Holly Barker character, and it is good to see her pair up with Stone again. The story was good, and it was an easy listen.
My only complaint is that the reader mis-pronounced the city where Stone left his plane to be worked on ... Spokane is pronounced like "Spo-can" not Spo-cane. Surprising that such a good reader would get that wrong.

Shoot Him If He Runs

The gang is all here for this work of art. Stone, Holly Barker, Deno. And Deno's new girl friend. Lance does not make an appearence. There is an odd sort of reference to Stone's girl friend, Arrentin Carter. She dump's Stone after doing an interview with Lance Carter.

Good book with production issues

Seems to be some production issues. Many chapters repeated. I did very much enjoy the story though.

Ex cel lent reading

The story and reader were very good, however the book tended to repeat chapters over and over again. It is not the fault of my iPad because I have read many, many other books on it and NEVER had this problem. I hope this matter will be fixed soon.

Quality was not good

What did you like best about Shoot Him if He Runs? What did you like least?

The audible quality of the book was not good. It kept going back to chapters Id already listened too.

Great Book but had audio probs

Refreshingly different than previous Stone Barrington stories. I did have some type of error, however.... The back half of the audio book seemed to be duplicated. I kept having to fast forward through previously heard material. Very annoying! But book was good!
