Publisher's summary

Kate Bishop is in a world of trouble. In the wake of several inexplicable and brutal murders, Kate is thrust into a police inquiry that reveals shocking family secrets. Suddenly exposed to a shadowy network of global evil, her life takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Jack Raines, an author with a mysterious past who says he has the answers to her questions. What's more, he suggests that Kate herself might be the solution.

But hot on their heels are a force of superpredators, vicious and bloodthirsty killers who will stop at nothing until Kate and Jack are eliminated. Like Jack, they've realized just how special Kate is, and now she's marked for death.

An explosive mix of action and suspense, Nest is a landmark new novel from worldwide best-selling author Terry Goodkind and a complete reinvention of the paranormal thriller. Travel with Goodkind on a dangerous journey to the back alleys of the darknet, to the darkest corners of our minds, and to the very origins of what it is to be human, a place few have ventured to and fewer still have survived.

I want the sequel and I want it now!

Terry Goodkind knocked the ball out of the park with this one. Definitely NOT the usual genre. Visualize Dean Koontz imagination and Joel C Rosenberg style competence and mastery of subject matter and this is what you would get. Read or listen to this book! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Thriller Diller

This story will keep you pin to your seat. Do your best not to be TOO distracted while driving. It pulls you in and you are going to want to hold on to the very end. The talent telling the story gives you a great rhythm to listen to pausing and inflicting just right.

Is this a novel or a university lecture?

I had high hopes for this book when I first started listening to it, but the pace was so slow and the story became so bogged down with so much wordiness it was more like a university lecture than a story. Any bit of intensity I felt at the beginning quickly disappeared

Nest of endless discussions

This was an original plot with interesting characters and could have been a 5 star book. It was set up to be a really fantastic listen then faded into monotony. It starts off interesting and ends interesting. But the entire middle portion gets really boring as it mainly consists of one character over explaining things to the other character who played dumb the whole time and took forever to grasp concepts ... it goes on and on til you just want them to shut up. Still, it wasn't the worst I've ever heard. But I don't know if I would purchase anymore from this author. There are too many run-on sentences

Good plot but a little too graphic for my tastes.

a good story, but

There is something not quite right about either the way the dialogue is written or the narrator but it makes the book a three instead of a four star listen. this is a shame because the story is a good one.

An Interesting Departure from His Usual Genre

Would you listen to Nest again? Why?

Yes. It was a good story, with themes that flow across all of Terry's books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The brother at the beginning. He wasn't prominent, but with what time we had with him, he had a very deep impact in my mind.

What about Elisabeth Rodgers’s performance did you like?

She emoted very well in her performance, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, but I don't want to spoil it. It's in the last few chapters.

Any additional comments?

Definitely worth a listen from any fans of Mr. Goodkind. He's made a strong start for a new series, if he wants to continue.

Fantastic on the edge of your seat ride

I have been a fan of Terry's for many years now. I really took my time getting to this book because it was something new and not in the fantasy world he created. He masterfully creates characters that you get to know as if they are real people in your life and you care for them. Than he puts them on a wild adventure where they are in danger and you are on the edge of your seat in fear for their lives. This was so awesome of a read. Thank you again Terry!!!!!

Loved it!

The story (although long with purpose ) keeps interest from beginning to end! One that makes you want to find things to do, so you can keep listening to find out what will happen next.
