Publisher's Summary

Bury your enemies, and bury them deep.

John Milton thought he was done with Avi Bachman. The most dangerous man he's ever known has been incarcerated in Angola, the brutal Louisiana prison. Inmates rarely leave Angola. Once you go in, the only way out is in a box. But Bachman is no ordinary prisoner. He was an assassin for the Mossad, and he has favours to call in.

Milton is in the Australian outback with an old friend and his flirtatious kid sister, looking for a summer’s peace to put his troubled mind to rest. But Bachman has other plans. He thinks that Milton killed his wife, and now he wants revenge.

From Australia to Israel, from Hong Kong to Croatia, here is the conclusion of this brutal chapter in Milton’s life. The two headhunters are on a collision course, and only one of them will walk away. Don’t start this audiobook in bed - you will lose sleep.

Mark Dawson has worked as a lawyer and currently works in the London film industry. His first books, The Art of Falling Apart and Subpoena Colada have been published in multiple languages. He is currently writing three series.

The John Milton series features a disgruntled assassin who aims to help people make amends for the things he has done.

The Beatrix Rose series features the headlong fight for justice of a wronged mother - who happens to be an assassin - against the six names on her kill list.

Soho Noir is set in the West End of London between 1940 and 1970. The first book in the series, The Black Mile, deals with the (real-life but little-known) serial killer who operated in the area during the Blitz. The Imposter traces the journey of a criminal family through the period; it has been compared to The Sopranos in austerity London.

    "Waltzing Matilda!"

In Mark Dawson's just released John Milton Book 7, an Aussie lass named Matilda plays a major part. The fight between Milton and rogue ex-Mossad super agent Avi Backman that began in Book 5 finally comes to a conclusion. I love Dawson's John Milton series, his Beatrix Rose series, and the recently begun Isabella Rose series. Headhunters does not disappoint. The one criticism I have of the audiobook is that it is too wordy; it should have been 8 hours rather than 11.5 hours. Mark Dawson writes great thrillers!

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! But listen to the earlier books first.

    "Milton and Avi Bachmann...Awesome!"

I'd recommend this book to the die hard wonderful fans of the John Milton series. What I especially liked in this book was Avi Bachmann. He is quite the character that should have perhaps had his own series (hint, hint, wink, wink, Mark Dawson & David Thorpe)...just saying. It's nice that Milton gets to travel to different countries and engage in mayhem: it keeps things fresh and interesting, plus exciting. If you are on the fence, don't overthink it...go out and purchase this magnificent book. But make sure you have read the previous 6 books first, because it's one massive storyline.

This book was as good as the rest. Avi Bachman is a worthy adversary, Milton is smart and clever.

Some parts were not believable . The characters are well done. The voices need improvement.

    "They never listen"

Dawson follows the template for a story. Bad guy gets girl. Good guy rescues girl. Good guy goes after bad guy. Girl wants to help. Good guy tells girl to stay out of the way. Girl doesn't listen. Girl creates more problems than help. Girl needs rescuing again....get it.

    Enjoyed another Milton story
. Narrator is the only problem. His monotone stilted wooden voice is so drab.. And please... If you can't do decent accents don't do thrm at all.... The Australian attempts were diabolical and really grateful om my nerves..

I definitely sacrificed sleep to follow this one! Milton was faced with outsmarting his dreadful nemesis, Avi Bachman. What a journey! But well worth taking with Milton. A great story, excellently narrated. I have to get the next in the series now I'm sold on it!!

    "Gripping!"

Mark Dawson does it again with another fantastic story featuring Milton. Milton is flawed but likeable and this story captures his internal struggle. The end sequence is fantastic and I could not put it down! It's 4:40 am and I've sat up just to finish it! Each book gets stronger and stronger and the pace is breathtaking! Great book. For fans of thrillers this is a must read... and this chase across continents with a great bad guy with make a great film!

    "another winner from Dawson."

Mark Dawson keeps delivering the goods. believable characters. sinister villains. thoroughly absorbing plots. this book and the previous one show Milton as not some superhuman who can't be beaten. will he beat his nemesis? edge of the seat stuff. the only disappointment is that I'm now onto the last book in the series. Not a weak story among them.

"This is where Milton meets his match"
Would you listen to Headhunters again? Why?

I would definitely listen to Head Hunters again, but I'd first listen to Salvation Row because that's where the story begins

What other book might you compare Headhunters to, and why?

I' compare this to Salvation Row only because Head Hunters is the second part of the story

Have you listened to any of David Thorpe’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I've only listened to David Thorpe performances of John Milton and he's spot-on every time, his voices and the way he reads the story is excellant

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There was more than one moment that moved me, When Milton is telling Matilda who he really was, the fights between Milton and Bachman and when Milton goes back to Australia to see Matilda one more time, I wished they could've stayed together

    Any additional comments?

Head Hunters concludes one of the most gripping John Milton stories I've ever listened to, it's got action, action and more action There's also love there even if Milton never admits it, indeed!, Milton finds a woman who truly accepts him for who he is Milton is a genius in this one, tricking one of the most dangerous intelegence services in the world Get this book and then buy Salvation Row, then wait until the weekend when you have nothing to do Get yourself a takeaway and put these on, you won't regret it
