5 star espionage thriller!

The Kyle Achilles series is perfect for adrenaline junkies. Like The Lies of Spies before it Falling Stars has a very creative plot that includes extreme suspense. Author Tim Tigner has become a force in suspense novel world in a relatively brief period of time. The perfect narration of Dick Hill only adds to the quality of Tigner's novels. Very highly recommended, but start the series with thee Chasing Ivan novella.

Hold on for a Wild Ride!

Tigner has written another Kyle Achilles winner with Falling Stars. Ivan the ghost is back and he has his hands into something new. He's gotten involved with a company that manufactures drones. The difference between these and other drones is this one is capable of lifting about 200 lbs. it has a remote claw that wraps around a person's torso and a taser if they struggle. The idea is to "kidnap" wealthy people a hold them for ransom about a mile high for about 10 minutes while the spouse gets on the computer and does a quick and large money transfer. If they refuse the victim gets dropped. Ivan tests it out first on Kyle's former partner Jo but she was able to escape. After Kyle is set up for murder by yet another weaponized drone he and Jo join forces to find out who is responsible. Tigner writes a fast paced book with plenty of action. This book doesn't have a dull moment.
Dick Hill does an excellent job narrating.
This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

exciting listen! IVAN is really the smartest guy!

Still chasing Ivan because Ivan thinks of everything! You'd think the concept of using drones for K and R (kidnap and ransom) was enough genius, but Ivan has more in mind! There's enough dastardly cleverness to last the whole book, enough Olympic-feat action, and enough neck stabs to satisfy. He doesn't need Katia's brains in this one, so she is sent away, while acrobatic, pick-pocketing Jo is brought in.

It's a good listen despite Dick Hill's emphysema-strained voices. His one-foreign-accent-fits-all serves for Spanish, French, Russian, and anything else.

Ivan the Ghost is the ultimate villain

Dick Hill is the perfect guy for Achilles books and Jack Reacher books. His performance is outstanding. Kyle Achilles goes through more turns and twists than Lombard Street, and his trusty sidekick, Jo, is just as critical to Achilles as Robin is to Batman!! Just when you think you've got it figured out, it spins off in another higher risk direction. You finally get the idea that no matter how brilliant Achilles is, Ivan is one easy step ahead. I couldn't believe how some of the things Ivan did would actually turn out better than taking the easy way, but there is always something up he sleeve. Great book, kept me on the edge of my seat right up until the last chapter. BUT, is this really the end of Ivan???

Best Achilles book yet!

This a wonderfully exciting long audible that gave me more than my $ worth. I admire Kyle’s abilities to succeed while protecting those around him. I also enjoyed Kyle working with a partner just as talented.

Outstanding! This series keeps getting better.

So many popular authors seem to be "phoning in" their books these days. Having captured us with crackling plots and compelling characters in their first few novels, they get by with very average followups.

Tigner, in stark contrast, just gets better and better.

Pushing Brilliance was Great! The Lies of Spies Greater still. And Falling Stars is the Greatest!

It's the innovations in his intricate plots and the way he weaves them into delightfully surprising stories that I find so impressive. I don't want to give those away here, but trust me, by the end of Falling Stars you'll be wondering why you didn't think of that, and when it's going to happen for real.

Super great read!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have read every one of Tim's novels, and absolutely loved them all. In each book, Tim comes up with some innovative new near-future scientific advancement and develops it into a non-stop action plot with more twists and turns than seem possible. This book is no exception; in fact, it is probably his best work to date. It held my interest from first page to last.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ivan the Ghost was my favorite character. Brilliant and totally amoral. The kind of guy I love to hate.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to many of Dick Hill's performances before. He does a wonderful job in telling the stories in an interesting manner. Great accents make the characters come to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I was torn between wanting to listen to it in one session, and wanting the book to last and last.

Any additional comments?

Hurry up Tim. Isn't it time for the next new book release yet?

FALLING STARS HIT IS OUT OF THE PARK

Would you consider the audio edition of Falling Stars to be better than the print version?

YES - Dick Hill is just unbelievable as a Narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Falling Stars?

When Kyle finally outwitted Ivan.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were many great scenes but the boat scene when Jo saves Kyle was right up at the top.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

Every book I have listened to by Tim Tigner - starting with Flash has been a book I just wanted to keep listening to with every free moment. Great stories and great narrator. GOOD STUFF!!
