Publisher's summary

Mystery author Rachel Goldman is getting used to the idea that her fictional creation, Duffy Madison, has somehow taken flesh-and-blood form and is investigating missing person cases not far from where Rachel lives. Wait. No. She's not getting used to it at all, and the presence of this real-life Duffy is making her current manuscript - what's the word? - lousy.

So she doesn't want to see Duffy - the living one - at all. To make matters worse, when he shows up at her door and insists on talking to her, it's about the one thing she doesn't want to do: find a missing person. But the man Duffy seeks this time around might be able to solve Rachel's problem. He might just be the man Duffy was before he became Duffy five years ago. The only problem is she could be letting Duffy lead her into danger yet again....

Entertaining and witty, the second in E. J. Copperman's Mysterious Detective Mystery series, Edited Out, will delight his fans, both new and old.

I love this series

As always I enjoyed E. J. Copperman's sense of humor and imagination. I hate that I have to wait another year for the next book.

Entertaining

I have grown to like the team of EJ Copperman and Amanda Ronconi. While waiting for another Haunted Guesthouse book I found this. It is book 2, I have already listened to Written Off, but there is no way to follow series so this was out over a month before I noticed it.

The added bonus was that finding this led me to discover that another favourite series Amanda Ronconi is performing also has a brand new book! I wish there was a way to monitor/follow/subscribe to a series.

Love this series

Any additional comments?

I really love this series. It is very different and I especially like the humor and Rachel's wit. The book moves fast and keeps your interest. I first listened to, and thoroughly enjoyed, "Written Out" so I was excited when the second book came out. I was definitely not disappointed. The book was over way too soon. Looking forward to the next one.

The narrator is very good as well. She handles both male and female characters well. Some narrators try too hard to make their voices higher or lower when changing genders, so it's a relief to listen to a book where the changes are not cringe worthy.

Not as good a series

I enjoy the author’s other series much more than this one. I am hoping the continuation of this series doesn’t prevent her/him from publishing more in The Haunted Guesthouse line.
The book was good, narrator very good, I’m just finding the continuing thread of Duffy tedious.

Disappointed

So. I totally loved the haunted guesthouse series snd hate this one. Narrator is fabulous but story is frustrating and Hate the inspector that totally acts like Sherlock Holmes. Really just no fun at all. Has some funny parts but if you are expecting a Paul and Maxi like last series - don’t see your sights on this. Sorry. I tried to listen. To be objective but just could not finish it.

Not the best but enjoyable

Love E.J. Cooperman books and Amanda Ronconi is my favorite reader. I'll buy anything she reads. But I expected more from E.J. Cooperman. The idea of a fictional character becoming real is interesting but the first book was more enjoyable. This one became very confusing at times and the ending...not that great.

TSTL Heroine

Minor spoiler below:
I liked the first book. This one was pretty good, too, until the end when the heroine doesn't call the cops, but walks toward where she heard a gunshot. Worse, she then wonders why the villain catches her and even says she's not being a TSTL heroine.

Other than that, it's a fun read and I will buy the next one.

Fun and entertaining plot

I got this book and Time Out for free as part of my deal with Audible. Than you to both author and Audible for that. Cozy books are, perhaps, not quite my genre, but I enjoyed both of these. Because I find that it is more to them than coziness. I think both books would benefit from being read/performed as crime instead of coziness. Ms Ronconi reads well enough, and obviously responds to the humor and ironi which is spread lavishly and entertainingly throughout, and yet- I believe less «girliness» and more «matureness» read into the voice of the protagonist would lift the books atmosphere and story and also appeal to a broader public. …no offence, just a thought.

Fun mystery within a mystery-worth the credit

E. J.Cooperman--you are an author that must be laughing your way through all your manuscripts, good fortune to you.

Another murder is found by Rachel Goldman while she and a co-worker are trying to help Duffy Madison, find his true identity. They all end up walking the tight-wire, closing into their demise. (You will have to listen to the story to learn what happens)

A good mystery and is well worth you time and the credit.

Amanda Ronconi--you are the best. You are the reason I found E J Cooperman--and am now listening to his stories. What ever you read I will listen to. I admire your humor and how you show it in your narrations.

This is great!

Twists, turns, surprises and just plain fun! I’d start at the beginning though! Love Duffy and Rachel!
