Publisher's summary

The hunt for mass murderer Cara Lindstrom is over. FBI Special Agent Matthew Roarke has been working for this moment: the capture of a killer who savagely hunts the worst of humanity. But Roarke remains traumatized by his own near-death at the hands of the serial killer who slaughtered Cara's family...and haunted by the enigmatic woman who saved his life.

Then the sixteen-year-old prostitute who witnessed Cara's most recent murder goes missing, and suddenly pimps are turning up dead on the streets of San Francisco, killed with an MO eerily similar to Cara's handiwork.

Is a new killer on the loose with a mission even more deadly than hers? In the pulse-pounding third Huntress/FBI Thrillers book, Roarke will have to go on the hunt...and every woman he meets, even those closest to him, may prove deadly.

To slow and predictable

Story line was shallow with no real depth

Characters were the same shallow theme

Lacked any ability to slow real connection

Cold moon

I am really loving this detective series! A Female serial killer who is trying to stop bad guys from hurting young girls and women, is really interesting.

Excellent story about trafficking teenage girls

The first 60 chapters are gripping and take the reader deep into the horrorifying culture that condones (actively or passively) the sex trafficking of teenagers. It also portrays what can happen (politically and violently) when women say "no more" to this culture. No one can read this book without wanting to intensify efforts to stop such trafficking and bring (legal) justice to its victims.

I have a problem with the last 14 chapters, but I can't go into detail without spoiling the plot. It appears that there is a fourth volume on the horizon. Let me just say that the romance(s) in the novel did not please.

As a native San Franciscan

Where does Cold Moon rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The mispronunciations of place names was distracting and irritating...Noe as in Noe Valley has two syllables, and Sutter is not pronounced "Suiter".

What three words best describe R.C. Bray’s voice?

The voice is just right for the content.

Good Continuation

I really like Roark and Cara's characters. I like their connection and Inwas curious to see where it would go. I didn't catch on to the theme of the books but it was beyond clear in this one. I found it fitting especially with everything going on in society and how trafficking people is still a huge industry. It is an industry I don't understand and it saddens me that it does. What I like most is how as female centric this is, the main character is male. I'd think a story like this would follow someone like Cara or even I. this book the social worker woman. I am always curious what happens next.

Well written

This series sheads light on the world of human trafficking which is horrible but does it in a way that also highlights a women rights movement and strength.

Addictive series

Alexandra Sokoloff has created a rich, dark, mesmerizing series with strong women and realistic depiction of the epic battle between right and wrong, morality and archaic laws. THANK YOU.

R. C. Bray is my favorite narrator ever and his nuanced performance gives life and clarity to each charcter. Can't wait to hear the next one.

This One Lost Me

The first two books were very good suspense/thriller type books. They had strong main characters, and two good antagonists in Cara and the Reaper. This book lacks that antagonist, the entirety of the sex trade industry becomes the villain, if you will, which makes this book more of a police procedural and not a very compelling one at that. At about the 3/4 mark I completely lost interest. The plot just gets goofy and there is no real suspense. Its pretty obvious how things are going to go. I think I will pass on the rest of this series. The first two books were very good, i will say that, but this one lost me.

RC Bray is amazing as always
