Publisher's summary

What if the unspeakable happened to you? Would you fantasize about seeking personal vengeance? How far would you go...and how much would you sacrifice to hold those responsible - those who believe they are accountable to none?

Welcome to the prestigious accounting firm of Winscott & Associates. Welcome to Audra Tanner's personal hell. She had heard the rumors about her employer. The whispered secrets. But she had thrown herself into work to escape the pain of her miscarriage and the demise of her marriage. Idealistically, she thought if she worked hard she would be rewarded. She thought wrong.

Savagely initiated into the brutal underbelly of the firm, Audra learns too late that the rumors are true. Now, after five years of careful plotting, Audra is ready to push the wheels of justice into motion. Her goal of retribution has turned into a personal obsession, and she will stop at nothing until everyone responsible pays. Will revenge set her free or is Audra's quest for personal justice only beginning?

PLANNED REVENGE

WOW~loved every minute. Audra Tanner is brutally raped by a managing partner in the accounting firm where she is employed (not a spoiler~just how the story begins). The male characters (except for Steve) are deplorable, despicable, immoral, and greedy human beings. Audra plans for five years to avenge her attack. I was hooked at the beginning and could not stop listening~so many twists, turns, and surprises. Who knew a book about an accounting firm could be so compelling but Ashley Fontainne has accomplished just that~TICK TOCK and the plan proceeds.... Since this is Book 1 of a trilogy (Eviscerating the Snake), I am happily moving on to Book 2 (ZERO BALANCE) today!

Never underestimate those who appear timid and shy

Any additional comments?

Accountable to None is a well-written story where each chapter is told from the perspective of one of the partners in a prestigious Arizona accounting firm. We are provided a glimpse into each partners’ back-story; we learn what makes them tick, how they became partners, and why they continually ignore the actions of the general partner in the firm.

From the beginning of the story, we know that Audra Tanner was beaten and raped by the general partner after she’s dedicated several years of her life working hard to achieve partner status in the firm. Thankfully we are spared all the gory details of the act itself, but are left with the aftermath and how it affects Audra.

Prior to her rape, Audra was a workaholic whose endless hours of working led to a miscarriage and eventual divorce. Now, Audra dedicates as much time as she use to put into work, gathering intelligence and information that will assist her in exacting revenge. She literally becomes obsessed with seeing her rapist, and everyone who knew about it, pay for the agony, heartbreak and humiliation that was bestowed upon her over the past five years.

Sara Morsey’s narration was excellent. She appropriately portrayed Audra as a frail and broken spirit. Her narration was so good that I easily imagined Audra as someone who wasted away to less than 100 pounds. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the trilogy!

A lesson in how to get revenge!

Ashley Fontainne has written a hell of a trilogy; this is book 1. Audra Tanner works for and will soon be a partner in the accounting firm Winscott and Associates. She is violently raped and beaten by the managing partner of the firm. She decides to forego the justice system and get vengeance and justice in her own way at the time of her choosing. I'm a little concerned for an author whose mind is so devious that she can come up with a truly twisted story like Accountable to None, but I enjoyed this novel. Sara Morsey's narration is excellent.

Accountable to None is Book 1 of this trilogy. Audible gets the order wrong. Book 2 id Zero Balance, not Adjusting Journal Entries. Warning: this series is dark, extremely violent, rather profane, and very fascinating. I'm now reading Book 3 having completed Books 1 and 2.

Finding a series with which to compare Eviscerating the Snake is difficult, but people who enjoy the writing of JA Redmerski in her In the Company of Killers series will like this series. The two series are very different in subject matter but are similar in the author's devious mind.

Taking Care of Business Like a Boss Lady

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Oh yes. I would recommend this book to a friend. My mom would even love this book. It was a great story with excellent plot twists. I also received this audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked whenever Gabrielle was talking to the parking attendant and she had instinctively made Gabrielle a copy of the tape. I also liked the ending when the truth of what Olin did so many years ago came into light.

Which scene was your favorite?

All the scenes were my favorite. I can't pick just one but I love when her backstabbing friend was fired.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes I did.

Any additional comments?

Sweet Revenge

What about Sara Morsey’s performance did you like?

Sara Morsey did a good job reading this audiobook.

Any additional comments?

This is the story of over 7-8 different people but it's all focused one, probably the most evil man alive named Olin.
The story begins with Audra crawled in her office hours after being raped and brutally hurt by Olin, whom she met with that night thinking they were going to discuss her promotion to partner at the large Accounting Firm she works at, instead turns out he just wanted to get in her pants (understating it).
This incident left Audra emotionally and physically broken, as she had lost everything while trying to climb the corporate ladder, only to be abused and hurt by the company she gave everything to. So, with all the vengeance within her, she decides that she needs her revenge, so she waits, quietly and patiently for five years, without drawing any unwanted attention to herself, to get it.

This is the story of how it all plays out and how Audra gets her revenge

Vengence is sweet!

Would you listen to Accountable to None again? Why?

Yes, I would read this again. I loved the content of this thriller. I loved the narration of it. It was quite exciting & under handed on the villain's part. The story is very cleverly written & I can see this being made into a movie.

What other book might you compare Accountable to None to and why?

I don't really have a book to compare to this.

Which character – as performed by Sara Morsey – was your favorite?

I loved Audra! Man that lady has balls of steel. To carry thru her vengeance like she did & to actually be able to spy on everyone she works with. To stand up and face everyone everyday after all that had happened to her with only the hope of 1 day getting even. To take on Olin & win, what a great thing to do! Above all, she came out on top!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The ending is spooky. Piper scares me . I can see Piper being the lead in the next book. After all Olin has done, he can still manipulate women from prison!

Any additional comments?

Fantastic story line. The narrator did an awesome believable job! The write did a great job too. While listening to this book, I was able to picture the story as it was told like I was watching a movie!
