Publisher's summary

Kate and Price Lewis had the perfect marriage - love, fulfilling careers, and a great apartment in the city. But when Price's work takes him overseas and his plane goes down, their happily-ever-after goes down with it.

A year later, Kate is still trying to cope. She's tied to her grief as tightly as she was bound to Price. When her sister-in-law coaxes her into an extended girls' trip - three weeks on a remote island in the South Pacific - Kate agrees. At a villa as secluded as the island, they're the only people in sight, until Kate sees a ghost walking toward them on the beach. Price is alive.

Their reunion is anything but picture perfect. Kate has been loyal to the husband she thought was dead, but she needs answers. What she gets instead is a cryptic proposal - go back home in three weeks, or disappear with Price...forever. Emotions run high, passions burn bright, and Kate faces an impossible choice. Can Price win back his wife? Or will his secrets tear them apart?

The performance is a bit off to me

I don’t know if the problem is production or acting, but Rowe’s performance in her own book for “misadventures “ was much more believable. I could see the gleam in her eye when she teased. Here, it’s almost robotic. Combined with a story that had me yelling, “oh hell no” to sleeping with someone whom you had buried, without an explanation, was just too much. I didn’t finish the book.

Great Read

Misadventures of a Good Wife was a great read by Helen Hardt and Meredith Wild. Kate and Price had what seemed like the picture perfect marriage. Unfortunately Price goes overseas for work and his plane goes down, killing him. It has been a year since Price's accident and Kate is still having a hard time finding a way to cope. Her sister-in-law gets her to go on a girls trip for three weeks on a remote island. She agrees and doesn't believe her sights when Price comes walking towards her. Price gives Kate the ultimatum to spend the three weeks with him and either go home after, or disappear with him forever. Kate can't make any decisions until Price tells her his secrets. I loved Price and Kate's story and can't wait to read more in the Misadventures series.

DNFd

I have been following these authors for at least a year. I finally broke down and listened to City Girl earlier this month. I struggled with that one, but it was okay.

This one in the first 2 chapters started out okay and just bombed from there. I am all about reading romance / erotica, but I need a coherent story line. Between the sex scenes every other paragraph and the I am a brave woman one sec, and oh shite what did I get myself into the next, I just couldn't do it. I did drop off with only an hour to go, maybe I will stick it out to see what happens. I am so, so disappointed in the writing of these books. I hope the rest of the misadventures get better...I literally own all of the paperbacks.

Great Story!

This story was very intriguing. It had me from the beginning and didn’t let go!! Loaded with sexual content and undying love. The sex was amazing, but for me, with this storyline, I would have preferred more story content and less sex.
The narration was perfect.
If steamy, romance with a little mystery thrown it, this definitely the book for you!

Missing Something

The story started strong, it picked my interest, then went down hill. It was all about sex and lacking substance, in other words, no plot. Although, I didn't mind Lauren Rowe's narration, at times, I found her wanting. She seems to be detached from the character she played. Overall, the narration was good with Joe Arden behind it

Slow start quick to end good overall

The story started off very slow. I almost to put the book down because the narrator was a bit boring. When the story finally started picking up I feel like it took forever to get to the explanation if The Husband's story. Then at the end when the FBI gets involved the story basically ends with a quick explanation and then an epilogue. I was disappointed because I would have love to see the whole investigation. Overall good book. I was on the edge of my seat when Kate gets pushed into the limo

I’m here for the heat, but not so much for Kate...

See, here’s the thing... there is SO MUCH SEX is this book, almost to the point of being gratuitous, but it’s between a couple that have been separated for over a year, who had an amazing sex life prior to being separated. And they were separated by DEATH. And both were celibate and miserable without each other. And they’re pretty much using sex to distract themselves and each other from the dire situation they currently find themselves in. So I’m a way, I’m not mad at it. BUT... if your man had to fake his death, it should go without saying that ish is real - if he means as much to as you claim, you don’t balk when he says “we have to stay in hiding if we want to be together,” and you for damn sure don’t drag his @$$ back home. That totally negates any intelligence or semblance of common sense you might claim to have. Moral of the story - I enjoyed it. I loved Price and I love how much he loved Kate. I even love how much she claimed to love him. But I just couldn’t with her... 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

Interesting story

Not the best I have ever read, but the love between the two main characters was sweet and strong. The mystery keeps you listening with a lot of suspense. Great narration!
