Publisher's summary

It was the greatest predator of all time, the most fearsome creature that ever lived - a 70-foot, 70,000-pound great white shark. Its jaws, filled with hundreds of seven-inch serrated teeth, could swallow an elephant whole. It could sense its prey from miles away, and if you ever came close enough to see the monster, it was already too late.

Eighteen years have passed since Jonas Taylor last crossed paths with Carcharodon megalodon. Now a middle-aged father of two, he is overwhelmed by mountains of bills and the daily strife of raising a family. But life is about to change. A Hollywood television producer wants Jonas to join his new survival series: Daredevils. For the next six weeks, two teams of crazy daredevils on a South Pacific Ocean voyage will try to outperform one another in front of the cameras. Jonas needs the money, and working on the color commentary seems easy enough. But behind the scenes, someone else is pulling the strings. And before it's over, Jonas will again come face-to-face with the most dangerous creatures ever to stalk the oceans.

Not as good as the first two but still amazing

Meg: primal waters does not reach the same heights that a novel of deep terror and the trench do, but this time, Steve Alten seems to be going for something different. It seems he’s trying to make a book with much more action, where as the first two where a little more suspenseful and dramatic. When I say this book isn’t as good as the first two, that does not mean it’s bad at all. The first two where just perfect masterpieces. It’s still a very good book that keeps you engaged all the way through and it’s a good read for any Meg head who wants to see a lot of great shark action. I’m going to give Meg: primal waters a B+.

Enjoyable!!!

I really enjoyed book 3, the narration was great. I became annoyed with the kids in this book but it was still enjoyable. I'm looking forward to see where book 4 takes me.

Second Only To The First Book

Narrator average, but made up for by the story. I wonder how it would sound if narrated by Scott Brick.

Sharksploitation Gold

I was introduced to this series by the movie. I hated it, such a dumb movie. I was shocked how long running the book series is. Steve Alten knows his audience and gives us enough shark carnage to satiate new comers and fans. I still need to read the first 2.5 books, but I'm hooked.

excellent 3rd edition

I really enjoyed the first book so much I immediately got the second. once I finished the second I just had to read the 3rd I can see why there is a major motion picture coming out this summer called the meg. I haven't enjoyed anything shark related since jaws and to be honest this series is just as good if not better
