Publisher's Summary

Detective Atticus Ware gave up Idaho to start again in the California mountains, close to his imprisoned brother. Although he's found good friends, the experienced Dominant wants more than the "do me" submissives flocking around him. He needs a woman to give her heart, as well as her body.

After Virginia Cunningham exhausts herself propping up a failing relationship, she accepts a social worker job far, far away in a California prison. Invited to observe BDSM classes on a wilderness camping trip, she's shocked - her fiancé had insisted BDSM was a fabrication to sell books. But when Atticus lures her into participating, she learns submission under the hands of a powerful Dom is beyond anything she'd imagined. Nonetheless, she can't permit a relationship - she'd just lose herself again.

Finally, Atticus has found the woman he wants in his life. In his bed. In his cuffs. Only she keeps backing away. Well...if he has to help a little counselor get her head on straight, he's just the Dom for the job.

Good story terrible narrator

I have all of Cherise Sinclair's audio books. I truly enjoy the stories with their mature themes. This one was very difficult to listen to because the narrator was so bad. It is the first book I have listened to of his and I will strive to avoid listening to any others. His cadence and badly timed phrasing was distracting.

Enjoyable story

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I wonder if I will ever read or listen to a romance in which one or the other of the featured couple doesn't resist the relationship. Some might think it would be boring, but I'm not so sure. It would be a novelty, for one thing and the story could focus on the beauty of the developing relationship. Maybe it could give the real world some instruction on how it should be done. just a thought.

The narration was pretty aweful. The narrator's attempt at women's voices was painful to listen to and his "Dom" voice sounded more demonic than dom.

I might have waited for this to go on sale or perhaps, stuck to the written form, had I known the narrator's work.

Still love the story but not the reading of it

Any additional comments?

I didn't truly enjoy the narrator's reading of this story. He didn't sound like a dom at all and it was truly bothersome with the misspeaking of his liege's name as Javier and not Xavier. Still enjoyed the story but won't be listening to it as often as other of the books in the series by this author.

Love the story...reader not so much

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the book and story. I have read the story prior to listening so I was able to get past the poor performance of the reader.

The reader changed Xavier to Javier which was disappointing. He has an odd cadence in his reading and was not very good in infusing his voice with the emotions of the characters or scenes.

Love

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He didn't have any emotion as he read the book. A couple of times I started to fall asleep.

Any additional comments?

I love the author and the story line of this book but the person that read it left A LOT to be desired.

An other lovely couple

I love these books. Cherise Sinclair always creates likable characters and great stories. The people she writes about aren’t perfect, they seem like real people. Furthermore I really like how characters from previous books reappear. It almost feels like if I know them like friends of mine.

What I love the most about the stories is the consistent element of BDSM and written by an author who has great knowledge of the lifestyle.

Love, Love, Love

Ms Sinclair is an excellent storyteller. Atticus and Gin have things in their past (don't we all) that affect the development of their relationship. The story has a natural progressive development but the past is not overcome lightly.

Ms Sinclair gives enough detail to appreciate the situations but not going overboard or trating the situations too lightly.

Love the big girl panty wedgie reference!

Happy Reading. :)

As a southerner....

As a southerner (Alabama), Paul's WAY over exaggerated southern accent grated on my nerves. I was unable to finish listening. :(

Great story

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were engaging, the narrator was very skilled at creating each distinct voice. I love Ms Sinclair's work. Now I need to look into Mr. Boehmer's other narrations.

Loved it!!!

This was the first time I had heard this audio book and I have never read the story either. To hear it brought to life by Paul Boehmer was brilliant his story telling was captivating. Cherise Sinclair always writes the most amazing stories and characters this book was no exception. Listening to Cherise's stories has become one of my favourite hobbies.

Couldn't finish

Unfortunately this is my least favorite Cherise Sinclair book. It started out not so bad but then I found that it jumped from scene to scene without a lead in. I'm an hour from finishing and I can't take the corny dramatics any more. Very OTT and for once, too long. The different narrator is a nice change and he suited the characters of the book.
