~Mark of the Mage is a B.R.A.G Medallion Honoree~

Books never die, but they can be forbidden.

Medeisia is a country in turmoil ruled by a blood thirsty king who has outlawed the use of magic and anything pertaining to knowledge. Magery and scribery are forbidden. All who practice are marked with a tattoo branded onto their wrists, their futures precarious.

Sixteen year-old Drastona Consta-Mayria lives secluded, spending her spare time in the Archives of her father's manor surrounded by scribes. She wants nothing more than to become one of them, but when the scribes are royally disbanded, she is thrust into a harsh world where the marked must survive or die.

The Story is gripping if you can stand the "Captain Kirk" impression of the narrator.

What did you love best about Mark of the Mage?

The world where the characters lived. The magic, the creatures, and especially the trees.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lochlen, because he was a dragon. (duh)

What aspect of Valerie Gilbert’s performance would you have changed?

Her voice was wonderful and lyrical but she sounded too old and too jaded for a 16 year old girl.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Aigneis's death was a powerful scene.

Any additional comments?

The whole series was wonderful.
