Publisher's summary

With extreme hatred of feminism in his heart, a heavily armed Marc Lépine entered the University École Polytechnique de Montreal. After allowing the male students to leave, he systematically murdered 14 female students, an act that feminists would label "gynocide".

But what motivated Lépine to carry out this heinous crime? Was he a mass murderer, madman, cold-blooded killer, misogynist, or political zealot? Or was he simply another desperate person frustrated with his powerless status in this world? The case of Lépine has been debated among the most prestigious criminologists in the country. This account entails some of the most controversial opinions of these experts to date.

Only one thing is known for sure: Lépine's actions on December 6, 1989, radically changed this country. And why he did what he did is much more complex than we will ever know.

This is the second book in the Crimes Canada: True Crimes That Shocked the Nation collection.

Montreal massacre

This book was informative and interesting. It reads more like an article. The author seems to be a caring guy, that was nice.

Never Been gas lighted by a book before

Wow. This was my fourth book on the crimes Canada series. The others, while a bit stilted were still interesting peeks into crimes I was unaware of a s a true crime buff.

I downloaded this because it was a crime I was familiar with but thought this might have more detail.

However about an hour in it the narrative veered suddenly and jarringly into an MRA rant that basically equated Lepine with battered wives and ended on a screed against feminism.

I listened to the end only because I couldn't actually believe what I was hearing.

This book was ten minutes of intro. 30 minute rehash of the crime and the rest was word vomit.

I cannot un-recommend this book enough.
