A great all around refreshing tool
Having been both an employee and a manager I found this to be a good refreshing tool to remind me of things that need to be done. Along with some new ideas to implement even in daily life. It becomes too easy to get caught up in some office cultures and then you forget basics for managing. This makes a good reference to keep handy and refer to as needed to stay on the right course.

An essential toolkit indeed. What a gem of a book.

Jargon free, the book is rich with personal experience, story-telling with purpose, probing questions, diagnostic opportunities, reflective exercises and so much more to encourage and cause critical reflection, learning and personal development.
The book is deep without being heavy. Joan's approach in sharing this critical first-aid kit is warm, authentic and authoritative. By the end of the book, l found myself thinking 'I wish Joan had been my manager!'
I cannot praise and recommend this book enough. It must be essential engagement for all managers who are serious about management success, Thank you Joan!

An Awesome Book for Managers
